\n Former Patriot Christian Fauria knows what a Tom Brady-led offense is capable of after being part of them for four seasons, but the retired tight end believes this New England team will benefit from the future Hall of Famer moving on.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re better off without him,\u201d Fauria told WEEI Thursday. \u201cCan I tell you why? And it has nothing to do with Brady\u2019s skill set. It\u2019s not because he\u2019s not good or he can\u2019t throw it or he\u2019s lost some speed on his fastball. It\u2019s because where he was in his career, his age, what he wanted to achieve and what the Patriots were trying to achieve were completely different. So it was never going to work out. They were never going to see eye to eye.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis offense is not going to be able to move forward with Brady as the quarterback, not because he sucks. Those throwaways were important. It\u2019s because he wasn\u2019t willing to adapt. There\u2019s the difference. He wasn\u2019t willing to let N\u2019Keal Harry grow.\u201d<\/p>\n

It app<\/a>ears Fauria\u2019s reasoning for the Patriots being \u201cbetter off\u201d without Brady is because the four-time Super Bowl MVP wasn\u2019t willing to wait for Harry, a 2019 first-round pick, to develop. The 42-year-old Brady, a six-time Super Bowl champion, left the Patriots this offseason to sign a two-year, $50 million contract with the Buccaneers.<\/p>\n

Fauria also said Brady \u201cdoesn\u2019t want his stats being messed with and won\u2019t throw interceptions,\u201d so he wouldn\u2019t be aggressive throwing to Harry.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year. Right now, the offense is better off without Tom Brady,\u201d Fauria, who also played for the Seahawks, Redskins and Panthers during a 13-year career in the NFL, continued. \u201cThey are better off without him this year, yes.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Fauria doesn\u2019t appear to be a fan of the Patriots\u2019 projected starting quarterback for this upcoming season, 2019 fourth-round pick Jarrett Stidham.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think Stidham is a good quarterback,\u201d he said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
