\n\tNicole Scherzinger is facing a backlash on social media<\/a> for liking a post from Russell Brand, the controversial comedian-turned-podcaster who is facing a number of sexual assault allegations.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn his personal Instagram, Brand posted a picture of himself holding a hat that said \u201cMake Jesus First Again,\u201d seemingly an allusion to the Trump campaign\u2019s MAGA hat and also a reference to Brand\u2019s recent conversion to Christianity.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn screengrabs that circulated online, Scherzinger app<\/a>eared to have replied to the picture with the comment, \u201cWhere do I get this hat!!!?\u201d Scherzinger\u2019s comment is no longer on the post.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThis week, U.K. detectives investigating sexual assault allegations against Brand have asked prosecutors in the country to consider bringing charges against the former comedian. London\u2019s Metropolitan Police confirmed it had received \u201ca number of allegations of sexual offenses in London\u201d and elsewhere in the U.K. following a joint investigation into Brand by Channel 4\u2019s Dispatches<\/em> program as well as The Times of London<\/em> and The Sunday Times of London<\/em> news<\/a>papers in September 2023. Dispatches<\/em> aired extensive allegations, including claims of rape and sexual assault, against Brand.<\/p>\n

\n\tBrand has denied all claims made against him, which date between 2006 and 2013, when the 49-year-old was at the height of his fame.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Hollywood Reporter<\/em> has reached out to Scherzinger\u2019s reps for comment on the post.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe controversy comes as Scherzinger is receiving rave reviews and attracting strong awards buzz for her performance in the Sunset Blvd<\/em>. revival on Broadway. In a glowing review, The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>\u2018s David Rooney wrote that, \u201cMany wondered if the performer, made famous by early 2000s girl group the Pussycat Dolls, was too young, or if she had the stage presence and acting chops for the role. But those concerns vanish almost from the moment she\u2019s hoisted by the chorus into the spotlight during Lloyd\u2019s amusing live-capture opening credits, just as the title appears in the boldest of red fonts.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tReps for\u00a0Sunset Blvd<\/em>. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tComments on Sunset Blvd.<\/em> appear to have been disabled, but many Broadway fans took to Scherzinger\u2019s personal Instagram to express their dismay for what they believe is her positive stance toward Trump.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou don\u2019t get to come into our community and spread your nonsense,\u201d one comment read.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe production, which opened on Broadway on Oct. 23, transferred to New York after a successful run in London\u2019s West End.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
