Disney+ has picked up the Wandance<\/em> and Medalist<\/em> anime<\/a> adaptations for streaming. A new visual for the former, which will be a Disney+ exclusive SVOD-wise, was also released.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Medalist\u00a0<\/em>streaming announcement did not mention the exact premiere date for the show, only mentioning January 2025. In Japan, Medalist\u00a0<\/em>is set to begin broadcasting on <\/span>January 4 (effectively January 5 at 1:30 AM JST),\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Wandance\u00a0<\/em>was announced in August with a 2025 release window, and the Disney+ announcement doesn\u2019t provide any updates on that.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Medalist\u00a0<\/em>adapts<\/span>\u00a0the Kodansha-published manga by\u00a0Tsurumaikada<\/strong> and is being directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto<\/strong>\u00a0(The Tale\u00a0of the\u00a0Outcasts<\/em>,\u00a0Nekopara<\/em>) at ENGI<\/strong>. Kodansha USA describes the manga as:<\/span><\/p>\n

Tsukasa, whose dreams were crushed. Inori, left to fend for herself. These two share a dream\u2026and their tenacity may be the only thing that sees them through. Their destination? The ice\u2026on the world\u2019s stage!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Wandance<\/em> is based on the manga by Coffee\u00a0<\/strong>and is a Madhouse<\/strong>\u00a0and Cyclone Graphics<\/strong> co-production, with the dancer RIEHATA<\/strong> involved as dance producer. Kodansha USA describes the manga as:<\/span><\/p>\n

Kaboku Kotani is starting high school, and he plans to do what he\u2019s always done: go along with his friends, keep quiet, and not to draw too much attention to himself. After all, it\u2019s hard enough to get by with a stutter like his\u2014why make things worse by standing out from the crowd? But then he sees another first-year, Hikari Wanda, dancing like no one is watching\u2014or like she doesn\u2019t care who sees her. It makes Kaboku wonder: Could he reach that same freedom? To find his way to Wanda, he does something he never thought he could: He joins the dance club. After all, every routine begins with a single step, right?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
