It\u2019s a way to show site visitors that you care about them and want to speak directly to them.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Having a Spanish user get served an English-language page in the SERPs doesn\u2019t help them view your brand as one that cares about them.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, keeping your URL structure consistent helps. However, transcreation and localization are the most vital pieces of a successful international SEO strategy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Google\u2019s heightened emphasis on E-E-A-T <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lies to all sites, not just those in English. This makes accurate local language translations essential for ranking well and providing a helpful user experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Even if your hreflang implementation is flawless and your ccTLDs are perfectly structured, these technical achievements mean little if your pages aren\u2019t properly translated or if your title tags fail to target the right keywords for local audiences.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, I\u2019ve had ecommerce clients experience issues with clothing category pages being mistranslated, including a kids\u2019 clothing page being incorrectly translated to something suggestive in German.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mistakes like these can damage user trust in your brand and hinder your chances of achieving top rankings.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-transcreation\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Transcreation\"><\/span>Transcreation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I think of the word \u201cvibes\u201d when I\u2019m thinking of transcreation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You want to be able to get the meaning of a sentence across. However, there are plenty of words and phrases that can\u2019t be directly translated from one language to another.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Think of an idiom like \u201ca stitch in time saves nine\u201d or \u201cbeating around the bush.\u201d With a direct translation to another language, those might not make any sense.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But, if you hire an expert in the language, they can transcreate that to a similar idiom to get the point across.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s like thinking about poetry translation. Meter, rhyme and turns of phrases in Spanish will be different than in English. But someone who\u2019s skilled in both languages can convey the important meaning of a poem beyond just directly translating each word.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The same idea can apply to translating your website.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-localization\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Localization\"><\/span>Localization<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s also important to have people who know the specific regional languages when possible. Spanish that\u2019s spoken in Spain is different from Spanish that\u2019s spoken in the Dominican Republic, Ecuador or Mexico.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Slang terms, idioms and ways of referring to things can vary wildly (often even in different regions of the same country).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you have an ecommerce site, making sure product names are localized to the specific region will be vital if you want to capture that search volume.<\/p>\n<p>Think about shoes as an example. What we may call sneakers or tennis shoes in the U.S. are called:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Trainers in Britain.<\/li>\n<li>Runners in Canada.<\/li>\n<li>Sometimes joggers in Australia.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All languages have these country-by-country differences in terminology.
