She branches out of that box on <i>Loosies<\/i>, her new EP that sees her dipping into disco, deep funk, trap pop, and bossa nova, perhaps as a way to help guide the creation of her next record. The impressionistic haze cast by <i>Life Isn&#8217;t A Fountain?<\/i> tests techno&#8217;s limits: Sometimes it&#8217;s a dancefloor abstraction \u2014 an Actress-style techno cloud the color of old parchment \u2014 or drumless pseudo-ambient excursion. No matter the sonic, it&#8217;s buoyed by a defiant <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach to sampling, especially with its vocals. Similar in bleak, eerie mood to their past efforts, the world of <i>I Forget Everything<\/i> is as fleshed out as any they\u2019ve created, despite its sub-20 minute run time. Part of this is due to production choices; whereas their past solo projects (as a duo) have been completely acoustic, <i>Everything<\/i> contains creeping, unobtrusive hisses and quietly gleaming electronic backdrops that would be hard to pick out if you weren\u2019t listening for them already. After the appropriately idyllic and cloudy \u201cEden of Haze\u201d and \u201cCorners,\u201d an instant LEYA classic, comes \u201cWeaving,\u201d in which Donovan\u2019s detuned harp is the sinister foil to Markiewicz\u2019s largely homophonic voice and violin. Im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely afterward, \u201cBaited\u201d compresses Donavan\u2019s disturbed harpeggio from \u201cWeaving\u201d into a single, decaying chord. \u201cWalk like heaven, but walk like heat \/ All along I\u2019ve been so baited,\u201d Markiewicz monotones above the quicksand. Rising from the fugue, Donovan plucks dissonant chords into her harp on \u201cFake,\u201d Markiewicz\u2019s voice evaporating like morning dew behind them. The finished project is huge, clocking in at nearly four hours and featuring contributions from over 50 artists such as Andr\u00e9 3000, Adrianne Lenker, Clairo, and Kelela. Press materials accompanying the release highlight research showing that slow and minimal music can reduce stress, release endorphins, and create a \u201cmore balanced and centered state of mind.\u201d  I\u2019m biased here: I rely on at least one ambient album every morning to get my head straight and solo piano projects from Keith Jarret\u2019s <i>Koln Concert<\/i> through to Gia Margaret\u2019s <i>Romantic Piano<\/i> are go-tos. But for all of its calming elegance, there are little surprises on piano1, unexpected textures, not least on Laraaji\u2019s gently experimental \u201cWaltz Life,\u201d ML Buch\u2019s muffled \u201cGetting To Know Each Other,\u201d and the almost symphonic Youth Lagoon contribution \u201cThe Harvest.\u201d Apparently it\u2019s the first in a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>, too. Listen to <i>Dust<\/i>, their third album and first in six years, on repeat for long enough and you\u2019ll start hallucinating in Motorola Razrs, mouse pads, and crop tops; it\u2019s filtered through the sort of ultra-sleek studio production that characterized mid-era Madonna, All Saints, and early Robyn. It\u2019s whip-smart pop, slow and sultry in parts (\u201cAbove Love,\u201d \u201cWaiting for a Boy\u201d) but at its very best when it leans into big choruses, like on the piano ballad \u201cNo One\u201d or the widescreen title track.
