release her first song as an independent artist. &#8220;Leash,&#8221; which <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears in the new Nicole Kidman movie <i>Babygirl<\/i>, is out on Thursday (December 6) and marks the start of a new era for Ferreira, who hasn&#8217;t released an album since 2013&#8217;s <i>Night Time, My Time<\/i>.\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            Speaking to <i><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/sky-ferreira-leash-interview\">Vogue<\/a><\/i>, Ferreira described &#8220;Leash&#8221; as fitting the themes of the movie, which tells the story of a sexual relationship between a high-powered CEO (Kidman) and a young intern (Harrison Dickinson).\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            &#8220;The crux of the film is that feeling of being a prisoner to yourself, and that\u2019s what I wanted to embody,&#8221; Ferreira said. &#8220;There\u2019s something a bit emotionally nihilistic about it all.&#8221;\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            Ferreira added that the very act of releasing new material has added importance to her, after leaving the record label she signed to as a teenager. That relationship ended in 2023 with Ferreira telling <i>Vogue<\/i> that she lays the blame for taking so long to release a new album at the door of the label. &#8220;[Capitol Records] kept me from putting out new music for 10 years as a way of making me look like I\u2019m incapable of it,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m able to do a song for an A24 film after all this time because that first album clearly meant something to people.\u201d\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            She also revealed that she is currently \u201cworking to try and get some of those songs back\u201d from Capitol, though it is easier said than done.\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            \u201cPeople keep telling me I should just re-record the songs and it\u2019s like, yeah, Taylor Swift can do that because she\u2019s a billionaire, but I basically put all the money I\u2019ve ever made as an artist back into making music,\u201d she said.\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            \u201cI think most musicians I know <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly pay to work. But I am following up \u201cLeash\u201d with another song right afterwards\u2014some time early next year\u2014because I don\u2019t want it to seem like some random one-off.
