That\u2019s the wacky premise of the indie comedy\u00a0<strong><em>Save Yourselves!<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0which imagines an apocalypse for the social media age \u2014 and to an extent, the social distancing age. Watch the\u00a0<em>Save Yourselves!<\/em> trailer below.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Save_Yourselves_Trailer\"><\/span>Save Yourselves Trailer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"416\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oIsIjcNdsXc?feature=oembed\" width=\"740\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>Save Yourselves<\/em><em>!<\/em> probably feels a lot more relatable now, as people flee the city to weather a pandemic in isolated rural getaways, than it did when it played at Sundance earlier this year. But that\u2019s all the better for Bleecker Street, which plans to release the apocalyptic comedy this October in both theaters and on VOD.\u00a0Written and Directed by\u00a0Alex H. Fischer &#038; Eleanor Wilson,\u00a0<em>Save Yourselves<\/em><em>!<\/em> follows a hip Brooklyn couple\u00a0Jack (John Reynolds) and Su (Sunita Mani) who decide to give up their phones for a weekend to try unplug from their <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> dependence. They make their way up to a friend\u2019s cabin in the woods, only to find themselves woefully unable to fend for themselves. This would all be pretty mundane stuff, if not for the alien invasion that starts to h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en soon after they arrive, causing them to attempt to return to civilization.<\/p>\n<p>\/Film writer Ben Pearson, who saw the movie at Sundance, called\u00a0<em>Save Yourselves!<\/em> \u201cthe funniest movie I\u2019ve seen at Sundance this year,\u201d and wrote in his review, \u201cA funny but sobering look at millennial life in 2020,\u00a0<i>Save Yourselves!<\/i>\u00a0can be read as a plea for us to put down our phones once in a while and live a little. That reading is complicated a bit during the movie\u2019s final five minutes, which I won\u2019t spoil here, and even though the ending is the weakest part of the story, everything that comes before it is strong enough to make this an easy recommendation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Save Yourselves!<\/em> also stars\u00a0Ben Sinclair, John Early,\u00a0Jo Firestone, Gary Richardson, Johanna Day, Zenobia Shroff, and Amy Sedaris.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the synopsis for\u00a0<em>Save Yourselves<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Jack (John Reynolds) and Su (Sunita Mani) are a hip Brooklyn couple who, like many of their friends, find themselves dependent on technology and unable to put down their phones. Fearing their mindless scrolling may impact their connection with each other, they seize the chance to head to an isolated cabin in the woods, vowing to unplug from the outside world for a week. Sheltered from texts and push notifications, they are blissfully unaware that the planet is under attack.
