\n\tFrench film companies Rectangle Productions and Goodfellas have completed their merger, the two companies unveiled on Friday.<\/p>\n

\n\tRectangle, the production house behind San Sebastian opener Emmanuelle<\/em> and 2021 Venice festival winner Happ<\/a>ening<\/em>, and Vincent Maraval\u2019s Goodfellas, who have handled international sales on such features as Hayao Miyazaki\u2019s Oscar-winning The Boy and The Heron<\/em>, and Francis Ford Coppola\u2019s Megalopolis<\/em>, finalized their merger on November 4, 2024. The companies have been collaborating for years, with Goodfellas handling sales on Rectangle productions including Emmanuelle<\/em>, Valerie Donzelli\u2019s Cannes 2023 film Just the Two of Us<\/em>, and Charlene Favier\u2019s Oxana<\/em>, among others.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe merger, the companies said, was \u201ccarried out in the interests of all stakeholders\u201d and marked \u201can important milestone for these long-standing partners.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRectangle Productions, under Alice Girard and Edouard Weil, said it will retain its brand, creative independence, attached talent, and all ongoing projects. In a statement, the company said it was devoted to continuing to \u201cproduce ambitious films and TV series<\/a> in collaboration with their usual talents and partners.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFor Goodfellas, the merger gives a major boost to the company\u2019s film and TV production business, as well as providing a new source of content to feed its international sales business.<\/p>\n

\n\tRectangle was co-founded in 2003 by Weil, who was joined by co-producer Alice Girard in 2012. The company has produced some 60 features to date.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
