\n\tMusic giant Universal Music Group (UMG) and\u00a0Amazon Music unveiled an expanded global relationship on Monday that they said would \u201cenable further innovation, exclusive content with UMG artists, and advancement of artist-centric principles including increased fraud protection.\u201d The partners said they would \u201cwork collaboratively to address, among other things, unlawful AI-generated content, as well as protecting against fraud and misattribution.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe expanded deal reflects the two companies\u2019 \u201cshared commitment to advancing and safeguarding human artistry while ensuring UMG\u2019s artists achieve their commercial potential through the service\u2019s continued product enhancements and exclusive content that elevate authentic engagement between artists and fans,\u201d they said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn line with that, UMG and Amazon Music will jointly \u201cexplore new and enhanced product opportunities designed to benefit artists and enrich the experience of their fans.\u201d UMG said the partnership news<\/a> comes as it \u201ccontinues to expand in audio, including further innovation in audiobooks, audio and visual programming,\u201d and invests in live-streamed content.<\/p>\n

\n\tUniversal has been partnering with new AI companies committed to respecting and helping to maximize the commercial impact and reach that responsibly trained AI can bring to artists. Its deals have come with the likes of\u00a0YouTube<\/a>\/Google,\u00a0ProRata.AI,\u00a0Endel,\u00a0SoundLabs,\u00a0BandLabs, and Roland. It recently also launched\u00a0Brenda Lee\u2019s\u00a0Rockin\u2019 Around The Christmas Tree<\/em>\u00a0in Spanish\u00a0for the first time using SoundLabs AI technology<\/a>, fully approved by the artist.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the end of October, the music giant also teamed up with L.A.-based AI music company\u00a0Klay Vision on what the partners described as \u201ca pioneering commercial\u00a0ethical\u00a0foundational model for AI-generated music that works in collaboration with the music industry and its creators.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
