A 30-second main trailer for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-<\/em>, a theatrical re-edit of some of the upcoming\u00a0Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX\u00a0<\/em>series<\/a>\u2019 episodes, has been released. Aside from some new scenes, it previews the theme<\/a> song \u201cPlazma\u201d by Kenshi Yonezu<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX: Beginning\u00a0<\/em>will premiere in Japan on January 17, 2025 JST. The premise of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX<\/em>\u00a0is described as:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Under the entry name \u201cMachu,\u201d she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Now their world is about to enter a new era.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The new Gundam series was announced in December 2024 as a studio khara<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Sunrise<\/strong> co-production helmed by FLCL<\/em>\u2018s Kazuya Tsurumaki<\/strong>. The previous Gundam TV anime<\/a> was 2022 to 2023\u2019s Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury<\/em>, which introduced the Ad Stella timeline and was the first to have a female protagonist.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Witch from Mercury<\/em>\u2018s lead characters are returning in a spin-off light novel that puts them in a near-future Japanese high school setting. Meanwhile, the Gundam Aerial will be part of the recently announced Gundam Assemble<\/em> tabletop game<\/a>, which features 2-inch-tall miniatures based on mobile suits (and more) from across the franchise.<\/span><\/p>\n
