Dexter: Original Sin<\/em> is currently airing on Showtime, and another prequel series<\/a> from the franchise is still in the works. A prequel focusing on the early years of the Trinity Killer seen during Dexter<\/em> and played by John Lithgow (above, left) was first mentioned in 2023.<\/p>\n

With Dexter: Original Sin<\/em> released, there is now an update on a possible Trinity series. Showrunner Clyde Phillips explains that the series would not be given the greenlight until the cable network knew how well the new Dexter<\/em> prequel series performed. For the premiere, 2.1 million viewers tuned in across all platforms, and Showtime app<\/a>ears pleased with the numbers.<\/p>\n

According to Deadline<\/a>, Phillips said the following about the Dexter<\/em> prequel:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wrote the entire Trinity Killer series. At the moment, it is on the back burner \u2026 John Lithgow has agreed to be the voice of his younger self the way Michael Hall is doing for [Original Sin<\/em>]. There\u2019s that and we\u2019re doing another show with Michael C. Hall, [Resurrection<\/em>]\u2026 We were writing that while shooting\u00a0Original Sin<\/em>, so that\u2019s fairly busy. We begin shooting [Resurrection<\/em>] in January and it will air in June 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Dexter: Original Sin<\/em> is currently airing on Sunday nights on Showtime.<\/p>\n
