As sister genres, Hip Hop and R&amp;B have combined to produce many a great r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er-singer duo over the years \u2014 and staking their claim near the top of that list is Kendrick Lamar and SZA.<\/p>\n<p>Since the latter joined Top Dawg Entertainment as a largely unknown artist in 2013, the former labelmates have developed an undeniable creative chemistry across more than half a dozen collaborations, notching a string of Billboard Hot 100 hits, platinum plaques and Grammy nominations.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-player\">\n<div class=\"ad-indicator-container\">\n<div class=\"ad-indicator\">AD<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"border\">\n<div class=\"ad-border-top\">\n<p>AD LOADING&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-border-bottom\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"video-player-ad\" id=\"mm-player\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>With a total of eight songs (and counting) between them, you might be surprised to learn that SZA \u2014 not fellow Black Hippies ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock and Ab-Soul \u2014 is actually Kendrick\u2019s most frequent collaborator within the TDE camp over the last decade (with the exception of his go-to producer Sounwave, of course).<\/p>\n<p>This is no surprise considering Dot\u2019s deep appreciation for the supremely talented songbird. \u201cShe has the answers to some of the things she was curious about,\u201d he recently told <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.co.uk\/article\/sza-british-vogue-interview\">Vogue<\/a><\/em> while reflecting on SZA\u2019s growth, \u201cand is willing to tell it all in the most disruptive yet beautiful compositions this generation has ever heard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though Kendrick is no longer on TDE (he departed the label in 2022 after spending more than a decade helping it become a Hip Hop powerhouse), he has recruited SZA to join him on the road this year.<\/p>\n<p>Coming in support of the Compton native\u2019s latest album <em>GNX<\/em>, which features a double dose of duets between him and Sol\u00e1na, the Grand National Tour will see them play arenas across North America (including in Toronto, the hometown of Kendrick\u2019s fierce rival Drake) between April 19 and June 18.<\/p>\n<p>A joint project between the pair has also been floated, with SZA recently fueling excitement by saying in an interview with Sherri Shepherd: \u201cI would love that. I think that would be amazing. He\u2019s such a genius.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While it remains to be seen whether that fantasy will become a reality, there\u2019s enough magical material from Kendrick Lamar and SZA to crown them the best rapper-singer duo in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> right now. Then again, the label does have a habit of teasing us with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aomAwWR-tFg\" target=\"_blank\">incredible-sounding song snippets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring funky, West Coast-flavored production, \u201cTraffic Jam\u201d deserves to be played at high volume, preferably through car speakers with the windows down. While the usually reliable Rock spits a solid verse, SZA and Kendrick steal the show \u2014 the former with a soulful, emphatic performance that showcases her MC-like ability to change flow mid-verse, and the latter with a gruff intensity that sounds like a rabid pitbull had just been let off its leash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTraffic Jam\u201d was later released as a standalone song on YouTube, but it\u2019s a crime this isn\u2019t on streaming services.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_%E2%80%9CGloria%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000\"><strong>5. \u201cGloria\u201d<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color:#808080\"><strong>Album:<\/strong> Kendrick Lamar \u2014 <em>GNX<\/em> (2024)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kendrick Lamar - gloria (Official Audio)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/G5YwhjCywvw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The soulful curtain closer to <em>GNX<\/em>, \u201cGloria\u201d features a twist reminiscent of Common\u2018s \u201cI Used to Love H.E.R.\u201d as Kendrick Trojan Horses an ode to the craft of writing rhymes inside what initially sounds like a tribute to his longtime partner Whitney Alford. Handling hook duties, SZA compliments Lamar\u2019s delicate delivery with her tender and gorgeous voice.<\/p>\n<p>However, she also injects some fiestiness into the track by personifying Kendrick\u2019s \u201cpen\u201d and reminding him: <em>\u201cI gave you life! I breathe the muthafuckin\u2019 charisma in this bitch! I bring the blessings! I gave you power!\u201d<\/em> \u2014 a nod to two classic metaphorical songs from Kendrick\u2019s heroes: 2Pac\u2018s \u201cMe and My Girlfriend\u201d and Nas\u2018 \u201cI Gave You Power.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_%E2%80%9CAll_the_Stars%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000\"><strong>4. \u201cAll the Stars\u201d<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color:#808080\"><strong>Album:<\/strong> Various Artists \u2014 <em>Black Panther: The Album<\/em> (2018)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kendrick Lamar, SZA - All The Stars\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JQbjS0_ZfJ0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Though it\u2019s the kind of radio-friendly pop record that TDE otherwise resists the pressure to make, there\u2019s no denying the success of \u201cAll the Stars.\u201d One of multiple hits from the Kendrick Lamar-helmed <em>Black Panther<\/em> soundtrack, the soaring, celestial song cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 (marking SZA\u2019s highest-charting entry at the time), won numerous awards (including an MTV VMA) and has been certified double platinum.<\/p>\n<p>It also spawned a wonderfully fed-up verse from Kendrick that signaled what was to come in the following years from the Compton kingpin: <em>\u201cI hate people that feel entitled \/ Look at me crazy \u2019cause I didn\u2019t invite you \/ Oh, you important? You the moral to the story? You endorsin\u2019? \/ Mothafucka, I don\u2019t even like you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_%E2%80%9C30_For_30%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000\"><strong>3. \u201c30 For 30\u201d<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color:#808080\"><strong>Album:<\/strong> SZA \u2014 <em>SOS Deluxe: Lana<\/em> (2024)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SZA - 30 For 30 feat. Sampling Switch\u2019s \u201cI Call Your Name\u201d (which rap fans of a certain age will recognize from Rich Boy\u2018s \u201cThrow Some D\u2019s\u201d), the song features more sultry (and sneering) back-and-forth from the pair as well as some lush vocal stacking.<\/p>\n<p>Seemingly inspired by her recent appearance on Kai Cenat\u2019s Twitch stream, SZA\u2019s \u201cchat\u201d rhyme scheme is weirdly irresistible, while Kendrick scoffs at his male counterparts with feminine traits. Even the title itself could be perceived as a subliminal dig at a certain Canadian rapper (Siri, play <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Emn6BEK5SlE\" target=\"_blank\">track 11 from <em>What a Time to be Alive<\/em><\/a>).<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_%E2%80%9CDoves_in_the_Wind%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000\"><strong>2. \u201cDoves in the Wind\u201d<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color:#808080\"><strong>Album:<\/strong> SZA \u2014 <em>Ctrl<\/em> (2017)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SZA - Doves In The Wind (Official Video) ft. Produced by Chicago\u2019s Cam O\u2019bi, \u201cDoves in the Wind\u201d slows down Busta Rhymes\u2018 hypnotic, Dilla-produced \u201cTurn Me Up Some\u201d and repurposes it over giant, crackling drums, with Redman\u2018s feral ad-libs intact.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s over this boom bap soundbed that SZA and Kendrick craft the smoothest ode to the female sex organ, giving Lil Wayne a run for his money for the number of times the word \u201cpussy\u201d is mentioned in a song. Modernizing Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn\u2019s \u201cIf This World Were Mine\u201d (which was originally a Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell song), Kendrick and SZA sound like two kindred spirits completely in sync on this aptly-titled <em>GNX<\/em> standout.<\/p>\n<p>The highlight is the second verse, where the soon-to-be-tourmates weave in and out of each other over the bouncy, bedroom-friendly production as they express the power of their love.
