{"id":64985,"date":"2020-09-11T19:05:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-11T16:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/americans-have-grown-a-new-appreciation-for-nature-during-quarantine\/"},"modified":"2020-09-11T19:05:00","modified_gmt":"2020-09-11T16:05:00","slug":"americans-have-grown-a-new-appreciation-for-nature-during-quarantine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/americans-have-grown-a-new-appreciation-for-nature-during-quarantine\/","title":{"rendered":"#Americans have grown a new appreciation for nature during quarantine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#Americans have grown a new <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>reciation for nature during quarantine<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<div id=\"article-wrapper\" role=\"main\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>        September 11, 2020 <span>|<\/span> 12:05pm           <\/p>\n<div>\n<div id=\"syndicated-partner\">\n<div>\n<div>\n                        <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" height=\"36\"  src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/07\/swns_copyright_large.png?w=185\"  width=\"185\"><\/img><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div>\n                        Nearly six in 10 Americans have a new appreciation of nature during quarantine, according to new research.<\/p>\n<p>The study asked 2,000 Americans about how they\u2019re keeping their moods up in light of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> distancing measures.<\/p>\n<p>Fifty-eight percent of respondents shared they didn\u2019t appreciate nature as much as they should have before the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16281163\"><img alt=\"\" data- data- height=\"1931\" width=\"300\"><\/img><figcaption><span>SWNS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Conducted by OnePoll on behalf of the Recreational Boating &#038; Fishing Foundation and their Get on Board campaign, the survey found that as their days indoors drag along, 57 percent said it\u2019s all taken a toll on their mental health and happiness.<\/p>\n<p>Three-quarters of respondents are starting to feel a boost in their moods, however, thanks to spending more time outdoors \u2013 with 66 percent sharing they\u2019re doing more outdoor activities close to home.<\/p>\n<p>Just over half of those surveyed have also gone fishing during their time in quarantine and 27 percent have specifically done so to boost their mental health.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, 63 percent of those surveyed overall said the mental health benefits are an appealing reason to try fishing.<\/p>\n<p>Seventeen percent of those who fish also said one of the top reasons they do this activity is because they can adhere to social distancing measures.<\/p>\n<p>With a plethora of options for outdoor activities, nearly four in 10 respondents have actually become more physically active during their time in quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, 32 percent of respondents are participating in more outdoor activities than ever.<\/p>\n<p>Six in 10 shared they\u2019ve been able to finally take the time to explore their local communities, with local parks, trails and lakes topping the list of new-found areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGetting outdoors, especially near water, has been shown in studies to reduce stress and anxiety,\u201d said Stephanie Vatalaro, RBFF\u2019s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why we created our Get On Board initiative, to raise awareness about how outdoor activities like fishing and boating can help anyone prioritize their mental health while social distancing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And as respondents explore their communities more, it\u2019s also a chance to bond with their families, as a quarter of those who fish also said a perk of the activity is the bond they can share with their loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, 63 percent of respondents who\u2019ve ever picked up a fishing rod can\u2019t wait to teach their kids how to fish.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t surprising, as 37 percent of respondents said fishing brings them back to memories of their own childhood.<\/p>\n<p>Other nostalgic activities include camping (34 percent), going to a lake (31 percent) and boating (23 percent).<\/p>\n<p>With all of these fond memories and newfound mental health benefits, 69 percent of respondents are planning to incorporate more outdoor activities into their lifestyle even after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can all use a little mood boost these days,\u201d said Vatalaro. \u201cThe outdoors has lots of activities to pick from, so there\u2019s something for everyone.
