The Weeknd has generously donated $1 million to help with relief efforts amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Since erupting last week, the devastating blazes have claimed the lives of 24 people and destroyed thousands of homes, schools, shops and other buildings, with that number expected to rise.<\/p>\n

In partnership with World Food Program USA and the singer\u2019s XO Humanitarian Fund, the money will go to the LAFD Foundation, GoFundMe\u2019s Wildfire Relief Fund and LA Regional Food Bank.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, The Weeknd also announced that he is delaying the release of his new album Hurry Up Tomorrow<\/em>, which was due to arrive on January 24, and has canceled a January 25 show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.<\/p>\n

In an Instagram post, the Canadian singer said: \u201cOut of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County, the Rose Bowl show has been cancelled and and the album date has been postponed to 01\/31\/2025.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThe city has always been a profound source of inspiration for me and my thoughts are with everyone impacted during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyonc\u00e9 and her BeyGOOD foundation have also donated $2.5 million to the Los Angeles Fire Relief Fund, specifically aimed at helping those who have lost their homes and businesses in the Eaton Fire.<\/p>\n

\u201cLos Angeles we stand with you,\u201d the foundation\u2019s official page wrote on Instagram. \u201cBeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of 2.5 million dollars.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena\/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immedia<\/a>te needs of those affected by the wildfires.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bey\u2019s own mother, Tina Knowles, lost her Malibu home in the fires<\/a>, as she announced on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happ<\/a>y Place. Now it is gone!!\u201d she wrote. \u201cGod Bless all the brave men and women in our fire department who risked their lives in dangerous conditions. We Thank you for your dedication and bravery and for saving so many lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
