\n Denzel Mims\u2019 Jets career is off to a rocky start before even playing in his first game<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The second-round NFL draft pick out of Baylor missed almost all of training camp with a hamstring injury and on Thursday, he hurt the other hamstring, almost certainly costing him Sunday\u2019s season opener against the Bills in Buffalo, coach Adam Gase said on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not looking good,\u201d Gase said. \u201cI feel like s\u2013t for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gase doesn\u2019t think this hamstring injury is as severe as the first one, yet he wouldn\u2019t rule out Mims going on Injured Reserve. The rookie receiver practiced fully for the first time on Wednesday, before hurting the hamstring on Thursday.<\/p>\n

That wasn\u2019t the only bad injury news<\/a> for the Jets.<\/p>\n

Inside linebacker Avery Williamson (hamstring) and rookie running back La\u2019Mical Perine (ankle) also won\u2019t practice on Friday, casting doubt on their status for Sunday as well. There was one positive, though. Marcus Maye (calf\/ankle) was expected to practice on a limited basis after being held out on Thursday, a good sign for him being able to play on Sunday.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
