\n\tBilly Ray Cyrus\u2018 son Trace wrote a heartfelt open letter to his father on Instagram a few days after the country singer\u2019s live performance at President Trump\u2019s Liberty Ball celebration. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe 63-year-old \u201cAchy Breaky Heart\u201d singer\u2019s app<\/a>earance, gruff voice and hostile reaction to enduring several audio technical mishaps had fans worried for the country star, with some dubbing the performance a \u201cdisaster\u201d and \u201ctrain wreck.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tNow his 35-year-old adopted son Trace has penned a moving plea, calling his father to get help. \u201cYou\u2019re not healthy Dad and everyone is noticing it,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSince my earliest memories all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever,\u201d wrote Trace. \u201cI wanted to be just like you. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life. Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it\u2019s become obvious to everyone but you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou may be upset with me for posting this but I really could care less at this point,\u201d he continued. \u201cMe and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you\u2019ve pushed all of us away \u2026 We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew & hoping for the day he returns \u2026 As I write this with tears in my eyes I hope you realize this message only comes from a place of love and also fear that the world may lose you far too soon. I love you Dad. We haven\u2019t talked in a while but I\u2019m over a year and half clean from alcohol. Guess what? I feel amazing.. I don\u2019t know what you\u2019re struggling with exactly but I think I have a pretty good idea & I\u2019d love to help you if you would open up and receive the help.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBilly Ray Cyrus has defended his performance \u2014 without really addressing his fans\u2019 concerns \u2014 in his own Instagram note. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI had a ball at the Liberty Ball last night and I\u2019ve learned through all these years when the producer says \u2018you\u2019re on,\u2019 you go entertain the folks even if the equipment goes to hell,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI was there for the people and we had a blast. That\u2019s called rock n roll!!!\u201d Added Cyrus: \u201cI wouldn\u2019t have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar and monitors worked or not. I was there because President Donald J. Trump invited me.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe country singer\u2019s seemingly turbulent relationship with his daughter Miley Cyrus has been a source of speculation in the media<\/a> for years. Last June, Miley told David Letterman on his Netflix show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction<\/em> that any rift has been overblown in the media and denied the two were estranged. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m grateful for being able to watch him ahead of me,\u201d she said<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s almost, like, given me this map, and there is a map of what to do and what not to do, and he\u2019s guided me on both \u2026 The way that his brain works has always made me feel safer in my own mind because we\u2019re very similar in some of our ideas.
