\n\tBluey<\/em> was at the forefront of pop culture discourse for several weeks in the spring, as plenty of adult critics discussed how much the animated show meant to them. Its target audience probably didn\u2019t read much of that discourse \u2014 kids under 10 aren\u2019t big consumers of that sort of thing \u2014 but they (and their parents) kept watching week after week.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe series<\/a> never fell off Nielsen\u2019s top 10 streaming charts in 2024 \u2014\u00a0it\u2019s been a fixture dating back to fall 2022, in fact \u2014\u00a0and ends the year as, by far, the most streamed show in the United States in terms of total viewing time. Nielsen says viewers watched 55.62 billion minutes of Bluey<\/em> on Disney+ from Jan. 1-Dec. 29 (the end of Nielsen\u2019s reporting for 2024), coming within striking distance of the all-time yearly record of 57.7 billion minutes that Suits<\/em> set in 2023.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs was the case in 2023, the top 10 titles in Nielsen\u2019s year-end rankings for 2024 are all library series. Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em> finished second with 47.85 billion minutes on Netflix and Hulu \u2014 the equivalent of watching the complete series to date (438 episodes) about 2.6 million times. Eight of the top 10 are long-running network staples, ranging from Bob\u2019s Burgers<\/em> (fourth place with 36.8 billion minutes on Hulu) to Law & Order: SVU<\/em> (eighth, 28.72 billion on Peacock and Hulu).<\/p>\n

\n\tNielsen also notes that outside its top 10, acquired series that predate the streaming era are still big draws: Little House on the Prairie<\/em> (1974-83) had more than 13 billion minutes of viewing on Peacock, and Gunsmoke<\/em> (1955-75) amassed 10 billion minutes on Peacock and Paramount+.<\/p>\n

\n\tBridgerton<\/em> was the top original series of 2024 by a pretty wide margin: Its 21.42 billion minutes of viewing \u2014\u00a0concentrated around the release of season three in May and June \u2014 was about 5 billion more than Love Is Blind<\/em> (16.45 billion), which released two seasons last year. Amazon\u2019s Prime Video had three original shows in the top 10 with The Boys<\/em> (13.58 billion minutes), Fallout<\/em> (11.95 billion) \u2014\u00a0which was the top new series \u2014\u00a0and Reacher<\/em> (10.57 billion). Futurama<\/em> also made the top 10 originals for Hulu, but it\u2019s likely that most of its 11.75 billion minutes of watch time came from its pre-streaming revival library. <\/p>\n

\n\tMoana<\/em> (13.03 billion minutes on Disney+) was once again the most streamed movie in the United States, with a top 10 dominated by animated film \u2014 Prime Video\u2019s holiday action-comedy Red One<\/em> is the only live-action title to make the list.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
