\n\tBarbie<\/em> and Sex Education<\/em> actor Connor Swindells has joined the all-star ensemble cast of The Entertainment System Is Down<\/em>, the new dark satire from Triangle of Sadness<\/em> director Ruben \u00d6stlund.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Swedish helmer has already lined up a crowd of A-lists for the feature, including Kirsten Dunst, Daniel Br\u00fchl, Keanu Reeves, Nicholas Braun, Samantha Morton, and Tobias Menzies.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlongside Swindells, new additions to the Entertainment System<\/em> cast include Daniel Webber, Wayne Blair, Dan Wyllie, Lindsay Duncan, Allan Corduner, Sofia Tjelta Sydness, Erin Ainsworth, Myles Kamwendo, Sanna Sundqvist, Tea Stj\u00e4rne, and Swedish artist\u202fBenjamin Ingrosso. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe feature is set on a long-haul flight between England and Australia. When the entertainment system fails, passengers are forced to face the horror of being bored and conflicts \u2014 personal and political \u2014 bubble to the surface. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u00d6stlund has begun principal photography on Entertainment System<\/em> in Budapest. The film is set to shoot over 70 days through May of this year. The producers purchased a retired Boeing 747 specifically for the project. The Entertainment System is Down<\/em> will mark \u00d6stlund\u2019s second English-language film after Triangle<\/em>, which was a cross-over hit, grossing more than $26 million worldwide and scoring three Oscar nominations, including for best picture. Triangle of Sadness<\/em> also won the Palme d\u2019Or in Cannes, a two-peat for \u00d6stlund, who also took Cannes\u2019 top honor in 2017 for The Square<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Coproduction Of\ufb01ce is handling world sales to Entertainment System<\/em>. A24 pre-bought U.S. rights to the film in an eight-figure deal in Cannes last year.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Entertainment System is Down<\/em> is produced by Plattform Produktion (Sweden) with Essential Films (Germany) and Parisienne de Production (France). Co-producers are BBC Film, Film i V\u00e4st, Sveriges Television, ZDF\/ARTE, ARTE France Cin\u00e9ma, SF Studios, Eye Eye Pictures (Norway), Paloma Productions (Denmark). The film is financed by the Swedish Film Institute, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Filmf\u00f6rderungsanstalt (FFA), the Norwegian Film Institute, the Danish Film Institute, with the participation of Canal+, Disney+ and ARTE France and with the support of Creative Europe MEDIA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
