\n This season won\u2019t be an entire waste for the Red Sox.<\/p>\n

Currently holding one of baseball\u2019s worst records, Boston (16-29) has found hope for the future in rookie Bobby Dalbec, who has homered in five straight game<\/a>s.<\/p>\n

Dalbec, who homered in his major league debut on Aug. 30, followed by going 0-for-14 with nine strikeouts in the four games that followed. Since then, Dalbec has put on one of the most impressive power displays in the majors, becoming just the fifth player in MLB history with at least six home runs in his first 10 games, according to MLB Pipeline, while also becoming the first hitter since 1900 to homer in five straight games during his first 10 career games, according to MLB.com.<\/p>\n

In Thursday\u2019s 4-3 win over the first-place Rays, Dalbec\u2019s 377-foot shot had a 106.1 mph exit velocity.<\/p>\n

\u201cBobby\u2019s power has been on display,\u201d teammate Xander Bogaerts told reporters before Thursday\u2019s game. \u201cSince he\u2019s been coming up (through the minors), I\u2019ve been hearing a lot about his power.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe obviously started off good. Had a couple rough games. But I told him, \u2018This is the big leagues, man. This is hard.\u2019 \u2026 It\u2019s a learning lesson, especially in his position. He\u2019s young. Pitchers are going to adjust. You\u2019ve got to adjust back. So just try to enjoy it as much as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dalbec, 25, was selected by the Red Sox in the fourth round of the 2016 MLB Draft after playing at the University of Arizona. While playing a combined 135 games in Double-A and Trip<\/a>le-A last season, Dalbec slashed 239\/.356\/.460 with 27 home runs.<\/p>\n

The infielder was added to the major league roster, following Boston\u2019s trade of first baseman Mitch Moreland, and has gone 7-for-18 with seven RBIs and two walks in the past five games.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
