In OpenAI\u2019s own words:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cChatGPT sometimes writes plausible-sounding but incorrect or nonsensical answers. Fixing this issue is challenging, as: (1) during RL training, there\u2019s currently no source of truth; (2) training the model to be more cautious causes it to decline questions that it can answer correctly; and (3) supervised training misleads the model because the ideal answer <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alignmentforum.org\/posts\/BgoKdAzogxmgkuuAt\/behavior-cloning-is-miscalibrated\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">depends on what the model knows<\/a>, rather than what the human demonstrator knows.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Another that\u2019s important to highlight:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhile we\u2019ve made efforts to make the model refuse inappropriate requests, it will sometimes respond to harmful instructions or exhibit biased behavior. We\u2019re eager to collect user feedback to aid our ongoing work to improve this system.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>ChatGPT was fine-tuned on a GPT model that completed training in June 2024, meaning it won\u2019t have knowledge of events that occurred after that unless prompted to access the web.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-built-chatgpt\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Who_built_ChatGPT\"><\/span>Who built ChatGPT?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Similarly, understanding who built the application and why is an important background if you hope to use it in your day-to-day work.<\/p>\n<p>Again, ChatGPT is an OpenAI product. Here\u2019s some background on the company and their stated goals:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>OpenAI has a non-profit parent organization (OpenAI Inc.) and a for-profit corporation called OpenAI LP (which has a \u201ccapped profit\u201d model with a 100x profit cap, at which point the rest of the money flows up to the non-profit entity).<\/li>\n<li>The biggest investor is Microsoft. OpenAI employees also own equity.<\/li>\n<li>Former Y Combinator President Sam Altman is the CEO of OpenAI and was one of the original founders (along with prominent Silicon Valley personalities such as Elon Musk, Jessica Livingston, Reid Hoffman, Peter Thiel, and others). Many people ask about Musk\u2019s involvement in the company and ChatGPT. He stepped down as a board member in 2018 and wouldn\u2019t have had any meaningful participation in the development of ChatGPT (which obviously didn\u2019t launch until November 2022). generation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Generating SEO-focused content with AI is probably the most talked about element of AI and SEO.<\/p>\n<p>From creating blog posts and other content whole cloth to generating images and videos, generating meta descriptions, or editing and rewriting content, ChatGPT and OpenAI\u2019s tools can help with a number of specific functions build things<\/a>, and it\u2019s no different for specific technical SEO tasks.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the prompts, ChatGPT can help with schema markups, robots.txt directives, redirect codes, and daily work, including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lots of specific prompts across different functions in SEO.<\/li>\n<li>Rewriting title tags.<\/li>\n<li>Local SEO tasks.<\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.screamingfrog.co.uk\/seo-spider\/tutorials\/how-to-crawl-with-chatgpt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">API integration with tools like Screaming Frog<\/a> that you\u2019re using every day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I would encourage SEOs to become familiar with ChatGPT (what it\u2019s capable of and what its shortcomings are), get creative
