The Kyoto Animation<\/strong>-produced CITY The Animation\u00a0<\/em>will begin airing this July, it has been announced. A key visual and some new cast names were also revealed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new cast names are Yoshihisa Kawahara<\/strong> as Tsurubishi Makabe, Miyu Irino<\/strong> as Tatewaku Makabe, Ayaka Nanase<\/strong> as Matsuri Makabe, Azusa Tadokoro<\/strong> as Eri Amakazari, Yu Wakui<\/strong> as Riko Izumi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CITY The Animation<\/em> is based on the\u00a0<\/em>manga<\/a> by Nichijou<\/em>\u2018s Keiichi Arawi<\/strong>, which ran from 2016 to 2021 in Kodansha\u2019s Morning. Vertical Comics describes the premise as:<\/span><\/p>\n

From the creator of nichijou, this surreal-slapstick series<\/a> revolves around a penniless college student, Midori Nagumo, who lives in an ordinary city filled with not-quite-ordinary people. And as this reckless girl runs about, she sets the city in motion.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Midori is in a bit of a bind. She is in debt, and her landlady is trying to shake her down for unpaid rent. Her best friend refuses to loan her cash since she\u2019s wised up to her tricks.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe some bullying would help. Or a bit of petty theft? Neither is sustainable. Maybe getting a job would settle things\u2026 But working means less time for fun adventures in the big city\u2026<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
