SZA, just one day before she\u2019s set to drop new material, has been awarded more than two dozen new Gold and Platinum plaques by the RIAA.<\/p>\n
The 28 awards, given on Saturday (February 8), are for songs and albums spanning her whole career, including 2017\u2019s CTRL\u00a0<\/em>and 2022\u2019s\u00a0SOS.<\/em><\/p>\n AD LOADING…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The former was certified five times platinum (5,000,000 units in the U.S.), while the latter, which had already been certified three times platinum in 2023, jumped all the way to six times platinum.<\/p>\n Among the SZA singles that received plaques were \u201cLow\u201d (2x Platinum), \u201cBroken Clocks\u201d (6x), \u201cI Hate U\u201d (4x), \u201cKill Bill\u201d (8x), the Travis Scott-featuring \u201cLove Galore\u201d (8x), \u201cSaturn\u201d (2x), and \u201cSnooze\u201d (8x).<\/p>\n The awards were so numerous that SZA was the only artist (besides Justin Timberlake, who joined her on a now-Platinum track from the\u00a0Trolls World Tour\u00a0<\/em>soundtrack) to receive an RIAA plaque at all on Saturday.<\/p>\n You can check the whole list of SZA\u2019s accomplishments here<\/a>.<\/p>\n On top of those awards, SZA\u00a0has announced that there are still more songs to add to her\u00a0SOS<\/em>\u00a0deluxe album,\u00a0Lana<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 and they\u2019ll arrive during a milestone moment for the singer.<\/p>\n SZA\u2019s manager and label president\u00a0Terrence \u201cPunch\u201d Henderson\u00a0announced the surprise news<\/a> on X, writing: \u201cAdditional deluxe joints coming Sunday. LANA.\u201d<\/p>\n It means the release will coincide with SZA\u2019s guest app<\/a>earance during\u00a0Kendrick Lamar\u2018s Super Bowl halftime show on February 9.<\/p>\n Reports on social media<\/a> suggest that the bonus tracks will drop on streaming platforms at 7 p.m. ET, shortly after the big game<\/a> kicks off.<\/p>\n SZA has had a troubled relationship with her fans during the prolonged rollout of\u00a0Lana<\/em>, which eventually arrived in December but in a somewhat unfinished state.<\/p>\n The\u00a0TDE singer previously announced that the project would be updated, despite being released just before the new year \u2014 leading some fans to grow discontented by the process, which has featured numerous teases and delays.<\/p>\n SZA took to social media last month to hit out at her fans, writing: \u201cI used to think sharing snippets, personal info + music tea would build connection but it actually just made ppl entitled ungrateful and disrespectful. It\u2019s time to restore the boundary.\u201d<\/p>\n She added: \u201cNo more explanations \/ updates. No back n forth. All further questions hit punch. Thanks.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cKill Bill\u201d hitmaker then attacked one fan who criticized her remarks, replying: \u201cIt\u2019s almost like you didn\u2019t read punch clearly announce we were waiting on sample clearance. Almost like wildfires broke out where everyone who worked on this album lives .. almost like you don\u2019t give a fuck, and lack common sense.
