If you were concerned Chris Hemsworth<\/strong> would hang up\u00a0Mj\u00f6lnir after\u00a0Thor: Love and Thunder<\/em>, here\u2019s some good news<\/a>: Hemsworth is sticking around. The actor says he has no plans to stop playing the God of Thunder anytime in the future, so whenever they get around to making more Marvel movies<\/a>, he\u2019s sure to be involved.<\/p>\n

Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans have both retired from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and while\u00a0Scarlett Johannsson\u2019 Black Widow has her own movie coming out, it\u2019s a prequel and her character is technically dead in the present, so she\u2019s likely to be done with the franchise as well. But Chris Hemsworth doesn\u2019t see retirement in his future.<\/p>\n

Hemsworth will play Thor again in\u00a0Thor: Love and Thunder<\/em>, and while speaking with\u00a0Elle Man, he confirmed he doesn\u2019t intend that upcoming movie to be Thor\u2019s last hurrah. \u201cI\u2019m not going into any retirement period,\u201d the actor said. \u201cThor is way too young for that. I\u2019m only 1500 years old! It is definitely not a film that I say goodbye to this brand. At least I hope so.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thor: Love and Thunder<\/em> is the follow-up to\u00a0Thor: Ragnarok<\/em>, and also\u00a0Avengers: Endgame<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0Endgame<\/em> saw Thor jetting off with the Guardians of Galaxy, and it\u2019s not clear yet if that will carry over into\u00a0Love and Thunder<\/em> or\u00a0Guardians of the Galaxy 3<\/em>.\u00a0Love and Thunder<\/em> brings back\u00a0Ragnarok<\/em> director Taika Waititi as well as Tessa Thompson\u2019s\u00a0Valkyrie. It\u2019s also bringing back Natalie Portman\u2019s Jane Foster, and it\u2019s been heavily implied that Portman\u2019s character will become\u00a0Mighty Thor, the female version of Thor. Beyond that, though, we don\u2019t know much.<\/p>\n

Regarding the script<\/a>, penned by Waititi and\u00a0Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Hemsworth added:<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter reading the script, I can say that I am very excited. For sure there will be a lot of love and a lot of lightning in this production (laughs). I\u2019m glad that after all that happened in Avengers: Endgame, I\u2019m still part of the Marvel Universe and we can continue the story of Thor. Of course, I can\u2019t tell you anything about the plot, but to satisfy your curiosity, I\u2019ll say that I had a lot more fun reading the script than on Thor Ragnarok, and that proves something, because this movie was brilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I\u2019ve come to enjoy Hemsworth\u2019s take on Thor. I\u2019ll admit I found the character kind of boring until\u00a0Ragnarok<\/em> finally let him lighten up, allowing Hemsworth to use his surprisingly good comedic timing. As long as the MCU allows him to keep doing his thing, I\u2019m sure it\u2019ll be worth watching.<\/p>\n
