\n\tApp<\/a>le TV+ is adding another Emmy winner to its talent roster.<\/p>\n

\n\tMatthew Rhys has signed on to star in and executive produce a series<\/a> titled Widow\u2019s Bay<\/em> at the streamer. The former Americans<\/em> and Perry Mason<\/em> star will play the mayor of a coastal New England town who refuses to believe his constituents\u2019 warnings that the place is cursed.<\/p>\n

\n\tWidow\u2019s Bay<\/em> comes from creator and showrunner Katie Dippold (The Heat, Haunted Mansion<\/em>) and Apple Studios. Hiro Murai (Atlanta, Mr. & Mrs. Smith<\/em>) is on board to direct the pilot and executive produce. Apple TV+ gave the show a series order in September 2024.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe news<\/a> of Rhys\u2019 casting follows that of Amy Adams in another Apple TV+ series, Cape Fear<\/em>, earlier Tuesday. <\/p>\n

\n\tWidow\u2019s Bay is one of a few streaming series Rhys is committed to. He\u2019s currently filming The Beast in Me<\/em>, a limited series in which he stars with Claire Danes, for Netflix, and has the serial-killer drama Silent River<\/em> at Prime Video (opposite John Krasinski) on deck as well and recently wrapped the BBC\/BritBox mystery Towards Zero<\/em>, based on an Agatha Christie novel. He is repped by CAA, Anonymous Content and United Agents.<\/p>\n

\n\tDippold, Murai and Rhys are executive producing Widow\u2019s Bay<\/em> along with Claudia Shin and Carver\u00a0Karaszewski. Joanne Toll is co-EP. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
