2Pac\u2018s murder suspect, Duane \u201cKeefe D\u201d Davis, is looking to postpone his murder trial before it starts next month, as he feels he has new proof that he\u2019s innocent.<\/p>\n
According to a report from Las Vegas KSNV<\/a><\/em>, Keefe\u2019s legal team filed a motion to postpone the March 2025 trial on Friday (February 14), stating they have new testimony from a private investigator that proves he wasn\u2019t even in Las Vegas at the time of Pac\u2019s death in September 1996.<\/p>\n AD LOADING…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThis case involves decades-old allegations, and with every new piece of evidence, it becomes increasingly clear that critical facts have yet to be fully examined,\u201d the docs read.<\/p>\n His legal team also alleges that there is new evidence that could point to a whole different suspect, and that it needs to be properly investigated before a trial could begin.<\/p>\n A hearing has been set for Tuesday (February 18) for a judge to make a decision.<\/p>\n Keefe D has been in police custody since September 2023 when he was charged with orchestrating the murder of 2Pac, which marked the first arrest in the decades-old case.<\/p>\n He recently attempted to get the murder charge dismissed, claiming that he had previously agreed an immunity deal with law enforcement.<\/p>\n The ex-gang leader told detectives in 2008 that he was involved in Pac\u2019s murder on the Las Vegas strip<\/a> shortly after a Mike Tyson fight.<\/p>\n His lawyers attempted to argue that he made this admission as part of a proffer agreement, which means anything he said could not be used against him in court, and that this agreement should still stand.<\/p>\n Prosecutors denied that there was any evidence of such an agreement, with the judge ruling in their favor.<\/p>\n After his motion to dismiss the charge was rejected, Keefe D\u2019s lawyer said to the press: \u201cThere\u2019s no evidence that he was involved [in \u2018Pac\u2019s murder]. He did what Detective [Greg] Kading did: He put out a book, and he made money.
