\n The 9\/11 Memorial and Museum\u2019s \u201cTribute in Light\u201d shone brightly over New York City for a final night Friday.<\/p>\n

The light display, which nearly didn\u2019t happ<\/a>en this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, will go dark by dawn Saturday.<\/p>\n

This year, it commemorated those who died at the World Trade Center on the 19th anniversary of the deadliest terror attack on American soil.<\/p>\n

The museum\u2019s initial decision to cancel the light display caused widespread outrage, and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation quickly pushed to mount its own display.<\/p>\n

The museum relented and agreed to stage the \u201cTribute in Light\u201d\u00a0 after Gov. Andrew Cuomo promised state assistance in making sure the workers who install and maintain the display would be safe.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
