Drake and PartyNextDoor\u2018s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U<\/em> has officially knocked Kendrick Lamar\u2018s GNX<\/em> from the top spot on the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n

The album, which is Drake\u2019s 14th to top the chart, sold 246,000 equivalent units in its debut week on sale.<\/p>\n

With the accolade, Drake now ties JAY-Z and Taylor Swift for being the solo artist with the most number one albums in the chart\u2019s near 70-year history. Only The Beatles, with 19, have more.<\/p>\n

Drake has now released 14 number one albums in 15 years while $ome $exy $ongs 4 U<\/em> is PND\u2019s first album to reach the summit of the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n

It is also Drake\u2019s third collaborative album to top the chart after What A Time to be Alive<\/em> with Future in 2015 and Her Loss<\/em> with 21 Savage in 2022.<\/p>\n

$ome $exy $ongs 4 U <\/em>picked up over 287 million streams across the week, the biggest streaming launch for an album since Kendrick\u2019s GNX<\/em> last December.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, GNX<\/em> slipped back down to number three, selling another 136,000 equivalent units despite being released three months ago.<\/p>\n

Despite taking the number one spot, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U<\/em> comes in slightly below projections with mid-week tallies expecting the album to hit 250,000 units sold.<\/p>\n

The collaborative project is also the fifth lowest-selling of Drake\u2019s career (based on first-week sales) behind So Far Gone<\/em>\u00a0(73,000),\u00a0Care Package<\/em>\u00a0(109,000),\u00a0Honestly Nevermind<\/em>\u00a0(204,000) and\u00a0Dark Lane Demo Tapes<\/em> (223,000) and his second poorest full-length debut on the chart.<\/p>\n

To add insult to injury,\u00a0$ome $exy $ongs 4 U<\/em>\u00a0would fall short of Kendrick\u2019s own post-beef album\u00a0GNX<\/em>, which opened with 319,000 units last November.<\/p>\n

$ome $exy $ongs 4 U<\/em>\u00a0also helped Drake temporarily eclipse\u00a0Kendrick\u00a0for the most single-day Spotify streams by a rapp<\/a>er this year with 92.4 million.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
