\n\tJames Marsden wants to play Frank Sinatra in a biopic.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve always loved emulating some of the old crooners, like Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin,\u201d Marsden told the New York Post<\/em> this week. \u201cI always thought there were so many interesting stories of Frank Sinatra\u2019s life that could be played. And for whatever reason, you\u2019ve never really seen a movie about him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTo be fair, Ray Liotta played Sinatra in 1998\u2019s made-for-television movie The Rat Pack<\/em>, James Russo played him in Stealing Sinatra<\/em>, also made for TV (released in 2003, the movie covers the 1963 kidnapp<\/a>ing of the singer\u2019s famous son), Dennis Hopper played him in 2003\u2019s The Night We Call It a Da<\/em>y, about Sinatra\u2019s 1963 Australia tour, and Robert Knepper played him in 2012\u2019s My Way<\/em>, about the life of French singer Claude Fran\u00e7ois. <\/p>\n

\n\tBut Marsden is still kind of right \u2014 there has yet to be a blockbuster biopic for Sinatra to rival those made in recent years for Johnny Cash (Walk The Line<\/em>), Ray Charles (Ray<\/em>), Elvis (Elvis<\/em>), Freddie Mercury (Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em>) and Bob Dylan (A Complete Unknown<\/em>). <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTo do a biopic like what Jamie Foxx did with Ray Charles would be a lot of fun,\u201d Marsden said. \u201cI would love to. And you\u2019re actually using your singing voice, as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMarsden also used his singing voice in 2007\u2019s Enchanted<\/em> and 2007\u2019s Hairspray<\/em>. \u201cIt was like we were doing a Broadway show on stage for a couple of months,\u201d Marsden said of the latter. \u201cIt was great\u2026a joyous experience.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Paradise<\/em> actor went on to say, \u201cI just think there\u2019s so many stories that could be told about [Sinatra] \u2013 some of the really tortured and darker stories, and some uplifting ones as well. What he did, what he accomplished. I\u2019ve never really done a biopic about somebody.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
