\n\tHarrison Ford is skipping out on this year\u2019s Oscars. <\/p>\n

\n\tFord was scheduled as one of the presenters at the 97th Oscars on Sunday night. However, the 87-year-old actor backed out of presenting Saturday morning following his recent shingles diagnosis, The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> has learned.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor is reportedly doing OK and resting after receiving the diagnosis on Friday. Shingles is a \u201cviral infection that causes a painful rash,\u201d according to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Hollywood Reporter <\/em>has reached out to ABC and The Academy for comment.<\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier this month, Ford attended the Captain America: Brave New World<\/em> and 1923 <\/em>season two in Los Angeles. On the 1923<\/em> red carpet, he told THR <\/em>about why he enjoys working on the Western show. \u201cI love the viscerality of it, I love the physical nature of the storytelling, I love being in natural circumstances, he said. \u201c[It\u2019s] a kind of old-fashioned movie-making mostly, no CGI or very little CGI \u2014 a little something to sweeten the location. But it\u2019s really essential, old-time storytelling and I love working with this kind of material.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSet as presenters for Hollywood\u2019s most star-studded night are Academy Award winners Robert Downey Jr. (Oppenheimer<\/em>),\u00a0Emma Stone (Poor Things<\/em>), (La La Land<\/em>), Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer<\/em>) and Da\u2019Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers<\/em>) will all present. Additional confirmed presenters this year include Oprah Winfrey,\u00a0Selena Gomez,\u00a0Ben Stiller,\u00a0Sterling K. Brown, Willem Dafoe, Goldie Hawn, Joe Alwyn, Ana de Armas, Connie Nielsen\u00a0and Lily-Rose Depp. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Oscars is hosted by Conan O\u2019Brien, and takes place at the Dolby Theatre. The ceremony airs live on ABC and is available for streaming on Hulu on March 2 starting at 7 p.m. ET\/4 p.m. PT. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
