night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<em>Anora<\/em> was the top winner of the night, earning a total of five awards. Star Mikey Madison was named best actress, while Sean Baker won three awards for his film: best director, best original screenplay and best film editing. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn the other acting categories, Adrien Brody was named best actor for <em>The Brutalist<\/em>, Kieran Culkin won the Oscar for best supporting actor, for his role in <em>A Real Pain.<\/em> Zoe Salda\u00f1a was named best supporting actress for her performance in <em>Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em>, noting that she is the \u201cfirst American of Dominican origin to accept an Academy Award.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMeanwhile, <em>Flow<\/em> won the award for best animated feature, marking the first-ever win for Latvia. <em>No Other Land <\/em>was named best documentary feature. <em>I\u2019m Still Here<\/em> was named best international feature film, marking Brazil\u2019s first Oscar win.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPeter Straughan won the award for best adapted screenplay for <em>Conclave<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPaul Tazewell became the first Black man to win the Oscar for best costume design, for his work on <em>Wicked<\/em>. The musical movie also won best production design.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tOther films that won multiple awards were <em>The Brutalist, <\/em>which earned best cinematography and best original score in addition to best actor; <em>Dune: Part Two<\/em>, winning best sound and best visual effects; and <em>Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em>, which also landed the best original song Oscar for \u201cEl Mal.\u201d Best makeup and hairstyling went to <em>The Substance<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe 97th Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O\u2019Brien, are airing live coast-to-coast from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on ABC and Hulu (which glitched as the show was starting). Winners were announced in 23 categories. (See the star-studded red carpet arrivals.) The show also paid tribute to the heroes and victims of the recent Los Angeles wildfires.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe show opened with a performance by <em>Wicked<\/em>\u2019s Oscar-nominated stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. In addition, Doja Cat, Lisa of Blackpink and Raye took part in a tribute to the music of the James Bond films. Queen Latifah, Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey led a tribute to the late Quincy Jones.
