Ma$e has revealed that back when he first signed to Bad Boy Records, he had a heretical opinion: he preferred listening to 2Pac, rather than the label\u2019s star artist The Notorious B.I.G.<\/p>\n

On the Wednesday (March 5) episode of his show with Cam\u2019ron, It Is What It Is<\/em>, the Harlem rapp<\/a>er and host looked back at his relationship with Biggie. He said in particular that Big bringing him onstage during a show at Harlem\u2019s Apollo Theater was a key moment in his career.<\/p>\n

Leading up to signing with Bad Boy, Ma$e mentioned that he spent time \u201cworking on my flow, working on my bars, working on my delivery.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI worked on it for like six months,\u201d he explained. \u201cI studied people like Method Man, I studied people like LL. I got my waves from Nas, I got my bounce from Method Man, I got my songwriting from LL.\u201d<\/p>\n

During this period, he laughed: \u201cI wasn\u2019t at first listening to Big. I was more like a 2Pac fan. So when I got signed to Bad Boy, it was like, now I\u2019m with Bad Boy, but I was really a 2Pac fan.\u201d<\/p>\n

But, he continued: \u201cBiggie was letting me hear his raps\u2026 And I learned so much about rap like that. And then one day, he was performing at the Apollo, and he brought me out, and that was the part that just changed everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

In other Ma$e news<\/a>, he was recently the victim of some badmouthing from Jim Jones.<\/p>\n

In a video conversation with\u00a0XXL\u00a0<\/em>published on Tuesday (March 4) the\u00a0Dipset\u00a0capo resorted to \u201cbody-shaming\u201d \u2014 his words.<\/p>\n

Interviewer Joey Ech brought up Ma$e\u2019s name early on in their conversation, asking for Jones\u2019 thoughts on \u201cwhere Ma$e is at in his career, and just his Hip Hop legacy in general<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

That was all it took for Jim to fire off a series<\/a> of insults.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe need to go on a diet,\u201d Jones said of Ma$e. \u201cHe need to get his life together. He need to go to the doctor and get a physical. He look terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cN-gga look big around the neck, waist look crazy. I\u2019m body-shaming this n-gga. He need to go get his shit together, get on the treadmill, do some push-ups, do something, especially if you\u2019re playing with me. You gonna need it.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Jim\u2019s tirade about Ma$e may be tied to the \u201cWe Fly High\u201d rapper\u2019s\u00a0current feud\u00a0with\u00a0Cam\u2019ron, with whom Ma$e cohosts\u00a0It Is What It Is<\/em>, their differences go back much further.<\/p>\n

Back in January,\u00a0Jones explained\u00a0why he has longstanding issues with Ma$e \u2014 and it\u2019s all do with how he used to treat Cam.<\/p>\n

Appearing on Justin Laboy\u2019s\u00a0Respectfully<\/em>\u00a0podcast,\u00a0Respectfully<\/em>, the\u00a0Dipset\u00a0rapper spoke about growing up around Killa Cam and allegedly seeing the\u00a0Harlem World<\/em>\u00a0hitmaker treat him differently after his career blew up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI watched Ma$e shit on Cam and everybody around him. Like, all the time,\u201d he said. \u201cI was Cam\u2019s man, you heard? Cam and Ma$e were so-called best friends, grew up together\u2026 I was there for everything. That\u2019s one thing people can\u2019t never say, is that I wasn\u2019t there for every single thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
