Offset has announced that he\u2019ll be performing in Russia, despite the fact that his label\u2019s parent company Universal Music Group pulled all its business out of the country back in 2022 due to the country\u2019s invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday (March 4), per Billboard<\/em>, the former Migos member posted to his Instagram Story, advertising an April 18 show at Moscow\u2019s MTC Live Hall. The venue has the event listed on its website as well<\/a>.<\/p>\n AD LOADING…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The show is getting widespread notice because back in March, 2022, UMG closed all its offices in Russia and suspended its operations there. They tied the effort to international sanctions against Russia in the aftermath of its invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n \u201cWe urge an end to the violence in Ukraine as soon as possible,\u201d the company wrote at the time<\/a> when announcing the effort. \u201cWe are adhering to international sanctions and, along with our employees and artists, have been working with groups from a range of countries to support humanitarian relief efforts to bring urgent aid to refugees in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n UMG\u2019s announcement came on the same day that the United States banned Russian oil imports<\/a> and Shell announced<\/a> its intent to withdraw from all involvement in Russian oil and gas. The European Union had massively expanded their sanctions against Russia<\/a> just days prior.<\/p>\n If you\u2019ll be in Moscow in April and have between 5,200 and 45,000 rubles to spare, tickets for Offset\u2019s show are available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Offset has also made headlines recently for slamming Elon Musk for supporting the notion of pardoning Derek Chauvin, the disgraced police officer who killed George Floyd.<\/p>\n The Tesla CEO reposted a video on X (which he owns) on Tuesday (March 4) of conservative commentator Ben Shapiro campaigning to get Chauvin released from prison.<\/p>\n Musk \u2014 who wields influence within U.S. politics as the person in charge of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) \u2014 seemingly co-signed the suggestion, writing above it: \u201cSomething to think about.\u201d<\/p>\n The former\u00a0Migos\u00a0rapp<\/a>er was not happy with Musk co-signing the idea of freeing the convicted killer and called him out on Instagram.<\/p>\n \u201cRacist bitch playin in black folks faces,\u201d he wrote in a comment.<\/p>\n Offset also declared that he would boycott Musk\u2019s vehicles, adding: \u201cDriving Ferrari not Tesla.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
