Kid Cudi has revealed that his new musical direction owes a lot to his fianc\u00e9e.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Hube<\/em><\/a>, Cudder shared some information about his upcoming project. It came up after a question about what \u201cmakes a collaborative project successful.\u201d<\/p>\n AD LOADING…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThis new direction that I\u2019m taking with my album has been exciting for me because I put myself in an uncomfortable situation to achieve it,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen I first started making this album, I didn\u2019t know if I would even be able to sing at the level I needed to in order for it to be executed in the right way. Working on these songs, collaborating with the writers and producers, and building songs from the ground up\u2014it did something for me as an artist.<\/p>\n \u201cI haven\u2019t created like this in a long time. It\u2019s been years. With my last few projects, I was getting beats from different people and building an album that way, but there is something about being in a room and creating something from scratch\u2014from a simple hum\u2014it\u2019s so fulfilling.<\/p>\n \u201cI proved to myself that I was able to accomplish it when I finished it. I had to take a step back to realise, \u2018Wow, that was so outside of my comfort zone.’\u201d<\/p>\n Then he began talking about how his relationship with his fianc\u00e9e, designer Lola Abecassis Sartore, influenced the project.<\/p>\n \u201cIt felt like one of the easiest albums I\u2019ve ever done because I\u2019m in this place in my life where I\u2019m happ<\/a>ier than I\u2019ve ever been, and the emotions were real,\u201d he explained. \u201cI had a lot of things to say, a lot of things in my heart. The album is damn-near dedicated to my fianc\u00e9e, every song is like a love song with me kind of confessing my love, so it was very, very fulfilling. I feel like a lot of people are going to hear this record and really be blown away by just how different it feels, but also how it still feels like Cudi.\u201d<\/p>\n Cudi quietly revealed his engagement to Sartore last April.<\/p>\n In an Instagram post on April 18 of last year, Cudi shared images alongside Sartore at the premiere of the new Paramount+ series<\/a> Knuckles<\/em>. Sartore is a menswear designer, whose Facebook<\/a> page listed Louis Vuitton as her current company, according to People<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cMy fianc\u00e9 Lola and me at the Knuckles premiere,\u201d Cudi wrote with the carousel of photos. \u201cThis amazing woman makes me so happy, she is everything to me and im so excited to share this news<\/a> w u all. Life is wild, and right when I felt my future was uncertain, it became crystal clear with Lola.
