Smino, Raphael Saadiq &amp; More"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/app.hiphopdx.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/saba-no-id-from-the-private-collection-album-stream.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"body-copy js-entry-text \" itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n<p>Saba and No ID\u2018s long-awaited joint album <em>From the Private Collection of Saba &amp; No ID<\/em> is finally here \u2014 check it out below.<\/p>\n<p>Clocking in at 15 songs, the project boasts <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earances from a couple of R&amp;B heavy-hitters in Raphael Saadiq and Kelly Rowland, as well as frequent Saba collaborators such as Smino, BJ The Chicago Kid, Jean Deaux and Eryn Allen Kane.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-player\">\n<div class=\"ad-indicator-container\">\n<div class=\"ad-indicator\">AD<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"border\">\n<div class=\"ad-border-top\">\n<p>AD LOADING&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-border-bottom\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"video-player-ad\" id=\"mm-player\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Chicago rapper\u2019s Pivot Gang crew is also well represented, with MFnMelo, Frsh Waters and his brother Joseph Chilliams making appearances.<\/p>\n<p>Behind the boards, the legendary No ID handles the bulk of the production duties with help from Saba, daedaePIVOT and Daoud, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Stream the album below.<\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"border-radius:12px\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/album\/7ha6zD0XRzUxAxxfXDLYfq?utm_source=generator\" width=\"100%\" height=\"352\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Prior to its release, <em>From the Private Collection of Saba &amp; No ID<\/em> had been years in the making and faced a number of obstacles along the way.<\/p>\n<p>The album started out as a mixtape in 2022, three years after the Chi-Town natives first met when No ID unsuccessfully attempted to sign Saba to Capitol Records, where he\u2019s served as Executive Vice President since 2017.<\/p>\n<p>That year, No ID sent Saba 100 beats which he whittled down to over a dozen songs while on tour. The project may have seen the light of day much earlier had it not been for Saba\u2019s pursuit of musical perfection, the death of his uncle, the producer Tommy Skillfinger, and a hail-mary mission to clear a Janet Jackson sample.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrianZisook\/status\/1901986709413253355\" target=\"_blank\">Audiomack\u2019s Brian Zisook<\/a>, Saba and his team tracked down Jimmy Jam, who co-produced Jackson\u2019s \u201cI Get Lonely\u201d with Terry Lewis, at a music industry event in Anaheim, California in January 2025, the day before <em>From the Private Collection\u2026<\/em> was initially supposed to drop.<\/p>\n<p>During their conversation, Jimmy cautioned Saba that getting Janet\u2019s approval would be difficult, but a phone call between the Grammy-winning hitmaker and No ID was enough to seal the deal. The sample, which was used for the song \u201cBreakdown,\u201d was eventually cleared a month later.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe amount of relief I felt that day\u2026 I can\u2019t even really explain it,\u201d Saba told Zisook.<\/p>\n<p>As for the concept of the album itself, the 30-year-old MC told <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/rb-hip-hop\/saba-no-id-private-collection-new-album-no-id-1235924670\/\" target=\"_blank\">Billboard<\/a><\/em>: \u201cI would say that this idea of <em>The Private Collection<\/em> is almost like snapshots; each song has its own texture. They all feel different, so I guess they\u2019re only connected in the sense that it is a private collection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think all of these songs are like small worlds of their own. That\u2019s part of the mixtape nature of it; it\u2019s an album now, but I didn\u2019t want it to be like my other albums that are so concept-based. This one, the concept is just me and No ID having fun through the artform, showcasing how we hear Hip Hop in 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>From the Private Collection\u2026<\/em> is Saba\u2019s fourth studio album following acclaimed releases such as <em>Care For Me<\/em> and <em>Few Good Things<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>For No ID, it\u2019s just the latest in a long line of projects he\u2019s worked closely on, an esteemed catalog that includes JAY-Z\u2018s <em>4:44<\/em> and <em>The Blueprint 3<\/em>, Nas\u2018 <em>Life Is Good<\/em> and several Common albums like <em>Resurrection<\/em>, <em>The Dreamer\/The Believer<\/em> and <em>Nobody\u2019s Smiling<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
