SZA is excited to head out on tour with Kendrick Lamar soon and soak up game<\/a> from him \u2013 and she\u2019s already gotten great advice that has changed how she performs.<\/p>\n

During an app<\/a>earance on\u00a0The Jennifer Hudson Show<\/em> on Friday (March 21), the New Jersey songstress shared a great tip she got from K. Dot.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne time he gave me the pointer of pretending to watch myself from above,\u201d she explained. \u201cHe sees himself while he\u2019s performing. And that actually changed a lot for me. It\u2019s weird \u2019cause when I was watching myself from afar, I was like, \u2018This is not what I wanna see! I wanna see something different. I wanna turn up!\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cAnd then I just started invoking a completely different energy and spirit within myself. That third person \u2013 he\u2019s also a Gemini. So you never know. He\u2019s already split in half.\u201d<\/p>\n

SZA and Kendrick Lamar are set to hit the road soon on their Grand National Tour, which was announced earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The arena tour kicks off on April 19 in Minneapolis, MN and wraps up on June 18 in Landover, MD, with stops in cities such as Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Chicago along the way.<\/p>\n

The roadshow will also swing through Kendrick\u2019s native Los Angeles and SZA\u2019s birthplace of St. Louis, as well as the hometown of Kendrick\u2019s fierce rival\u00a0Drake, Toronto.<\/p>\n

In January,\u00a0SZA also made it clear that she\u2019s open to doing a full album with Kendrick after Sherri Shepherd said their collabs were the results of pairing \u201ca genius with a genius.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWould you and Kendrick together consider doing a joint album?\u201d Shepherd asked on her talk show.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love that,\u201d SZA replied, to audience applause.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that would be amazing,\u201d she elaborated. \u201cHe\u2019s such a genius, and part of his genius is him being so elusive and so mysterious. I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on as much as you don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on. When \u2018Luther\u2019 came out, I said, okay, that\u2019s the vocals we\u2019re using. And same with \u2018Gloria.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI love that\u2026 He\u2019s a huge part of my \u2018fumbling and finding\u2019 era, because I\u2019m just trusting all of his expertise and being thrust into these moments. He\u2019s so good at saying yes and staying grounded, so I\u2019m just like, \u2018Teach me, Sensei, what you know.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
