\n\tJohn Krasinski will star in the dark comedic play Angry Alan <\/em>Off-Broadway this June.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Penelope Skinner play will mark the first production at the Studio Seaview space, which was previously known as the Tony Kiser Theatre. Seaview, the production company behind John Mulaney\u2019s All In: Comedy About Love, Good Night, and Good Luck<\/em> with George Clooney this season, acquired the theater from the nonprofit theater company Second Stage Theater in January.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tSam Gold, <\/em>who directed An Enemy of the People and Romeo + Juliet, <\/em>both produced by Seaview, directs the one-man play. Angry Alan <\/em>will start performances May 23, ahead of a June 11 opening night. The play is slated for a 10-week engagement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAngry Alan<\/em> makes its New York debut after premiering at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and later app<\/a>earing in London and around the world. Donald Sage Macky <\/em>co-created the piece and acted in prior productions.\u00a0The dark comedy follows Roger, an embittered divorcee who\u2019s also angry about being demoted at his job, and then finds inspiration in an online activist who attributes all male suffering to the rise of feminism.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tKrasinski is well-known for his role on The Office<\/em> and his film career, including writing, producing and directing IF<\/em> and co-writing, directing and starring A Quiet Place<\/em>, as well as A Quiet Place: Part II<\/em>. He previously appeared Off-Broadway in the 2016 production of Dry Powder<\/em>, with Claire Danes and Hank Azaria.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tKrasinski said, \u201cI couldn\u2019t be more excited to be returning to Off Broadway, and to be surrounded by such a force of talent in Penny and Sam is quite literally a dream scenario.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
