In the thread, the organization claimed the new protocol features one-second blocks, sub-cent transaction costs, and Tether\u2019s USDt (<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"\/tether-price-index\" rel=\"null\" target=\"null\" title=\"null\">USDT<\/a>) and USDC (<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"\/usdc-price-index\" rel=\"null\" target=\"null\" title=\"null\">USDC<\/a>) as gas.<\/p>\n<p>Celo first\u00a0proposed this transition\u00a0in the summer of 2023, and it is now completed after block production on the old layer-1 platform halted and continued on the new network.
