Ice Cube has officially been given the greenlight to proceed with a long-awaited new Friday<\/em> movie.<\/p>\n The legendary rapp<\/a>er and actor has put to pen to paper on a deal with Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema to develop Last Friday<\/em>, the first installment in the comedy series<\/a> in more than 20 years.<\/p>\n AD LOADING…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n New Line\u2019s COO Richard Brenner confirmed the news<\/a> in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>, saying: \u201cWe are making another Friday<\/em>. We just closed a deal with Ice Cube to write and star. It\u2019s going to be called Last Friday<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n Aside from Ice Cube writing and starring in the sequel, no other details were announced, such as which actors will be reprising their roles in the cult series.<\/p>\n Cube has been teasing a fourth Friday<\/em> film for quite a while and been publicly detailing his efforts to get the movie made.<\/p>\n Speaking last October on Million Dollaz Worth of Game<\/a><\/em>, the N.W.A legend was optimistic that the movie would get made.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cIt\u2019s coming back. We gonna do it. We gonna make it dope, make it funny, bring it up to date, introduce new characters, bring back old characters, create the feeling the movie gives you.\u201d<\/p>\n Cube continued: \u201cPeople love\u00a0Friday<\/em>\u00a0because everyone experienced it. People love\u00a0Friday<\/em>\u00a0because everyone\u2019s lived\u00a0Friday<\/em>. Everyone has lived a thousand\u00a0Friday<\/em>s.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe finally got some traction with Warner Bros.,\u201d he previously said in an interview with Flavor Flav a few months prior. \u201cThey have new leadership. My man Mike DeLuca, who used to be at New Line when I first started, when I first did the first Friday<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Players Club<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0All About the Benjamins<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 Mike DeLuca was there, so now he\u2019s running Warner Bros.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt was like, \u2018Yo, what the fuck is going on with\u00a0Friday<\/em>?
