\n\tSaturday Night Live<\/em> didn\u2019t hold back on roasting President Donald Trump\u2019s sweeping new tariff plan<\/a> that sent global stocks plunging this week.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe NBC sketch comedy show\u2019s latest cold open kicked off on Saturday with a voice narrating, \u201cOn Wednesday, President Trump gave a speech in the Rose Garden announcing his economic vision for America, including tariffs against almost every country we do business with, and like everything else so far in his presidency, it was a total home run. We go now to a presentation of Trump\u2019s historically awesome speech.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe camera then cuts to James Austin Johnson\u2019s Trump giving a speech on the president\u2019s tariff plan. \u201cMy favorite word, tariff, which of course is short for terrific idea,\u201d he says. \u201cThey\u2019re the backbone of my incredible plan for our economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s actually even better than a plan because it\u2019s a series<\/a> of random numbers,\u201d he continues. \u201cLike the numbers on the computer screen in Severance.<\/em> No idea what the hell they mean, but I know what the numbers mean, OK? They mean we\u2019re gonna Make America Wealthy Again.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJohnson\u2019s Trump adds, \u201cYou know, you\u2019re gonna check your stock portfolio in a couple of days and think, \u2018I\u2019m almost too wealthy with doing MAWA. But before that, we\u2019re gonna do MAGDA, Make America Great Depression Again. But it\u2019ll be better than great. It\u2019ll be a fantastic, unbelievable depression, the likes of which you\u2019ve never seen before.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe later notes that \u201cno country is safe from my tariffs. I even put tariffs on an island that is uninhabited by humans. It\u2019s called Heard and McDonald Islands.\u201d The island near Antarctica is a remote territory inhabited by penguins<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOh, McDonald Island. I\u2019d love to visit there, right?\u201d Johnson\u2019s Trump says. \u201cCan you imagine that, a Big Mac and a hula skirt.\u201d He then brings out some fake artwork he had made of his dream McDonald Island before adding, \u201cThere we go. Get me to God\u2019s country, right?\u201d referencing Morgan Wallen\u2019s (last week\u2019s SNL<\/em> musical guest) viral Instagram post after quickly leaving the show once it wrapp<\/a>ed.<\/p>\n

\n\tMike Myers later returned to SNL<\/em> to portray Elon Musk during the cold open. \u201cElon is great, but sadly, it\u2019s time to never see you again, OK?\u201d Johnson\u2019s Trump says. \u201cYou gotta get back to Tesla, right, because they\u2019re doing pretty bad.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYes, recently our dealerships have been the target of many attacks, and suddenly no one likes Tesla cars, so I asked myself why? And then I answered myself, because of me,\u201d Myers\u2019 Musk says. <\/p>\n

\n\tHe continues, \u201cWhich is why we\u2019re introducing the new Tesla Model V, the first electric car in history to be fully self-vandalizing, with features like self-smashing headlights, slashing tires and AI-powered graffiti. You can choose from penises or swastikas, or my favorite, swastikas made out of penises.\u201d<\/p>\n
