\n It was only a few weeks ago when Le\u2019Veon Bell took to Twitter<\/a> to rail against Adam Gase removing him from practice.<\/p>\n

\u201cAin\u2019t nothing wrong with my hamstrings,\u201d Bell tweeted.<\/p>\n

Something wrong with them now.<\/p>\n

And this time, Gase took himself to task for keeping Bell and his fragile hamstrings on the field.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m mad at myself that I let him go back in there in the second half,\u201d Gase said after the Jets\u2019 27-17 loss to the Bills in the season opener on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Bell had caught a 30-yard pass in stride from Sam Darnold at the start of a drive late in the second quarter. It was on an incomplete pass from the Buffalo 23 on which Bills linebacker A.J. Klein was flagged for holding when Bell went sprawling and Gase sensed trouble.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was gonna be a touchdown, then he got grabbed and then just kinda the way he just kinda planted and torqued, it looked really bad,\u201d Gase said. \u201cAnd I saw him grab his hamstring. He wouldn\u2019t come out.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then when we came in at halftime, I let him go back in there. I was worried about it. I eventually was just like, \u2018I can\u2019t put you in there. We can\u2019t take a chance of you getting more hurt than what you already are.\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n

Bell caught a two-yard pass and rushed for five yards in the first series<\/a> of the third quarter before Gase finally decided to pull him in favor of Frank Gore.<\/p>\n

The severity of Bell\u2019s hamstring injury is unknown.<\/p>\n

Bell did not make his way to a Zoom calls with the media. He finished with six carries for 14 yards and two receptions for 32 yards.<\/p>\n

Bell, 28, was brimming with confidence after reporting to camp at a chiseled 210 pounds. Said he was in the best shape of his life. Sunday he didn\u2019t look like anyone\u2019s bell cow.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
