Marin\u2019s board of directors approved a formal Plan of Dissolution and Liquidation.<\/p>\n<p>The San Francisco-based software provider, founded 19 years ago (in April 2006), was once a leading search and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> marketing platform.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why we care.<\/strong> Marin was one of the first companies to offer a cross-channel ad management platform to help advertisers optimize campaigns. <span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">However, Marin struggled in recent years w<\/span>ith declining revenue and customer churn. In Q3 2024,\u00a0Marin <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/marin-software-inc-mrin-q3-071932305.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reduced its headcount<\/a>\u00a0by 26% to cut costs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s next. <\/strong>If shareholders vote in favor of the plan at a special meeting later this quarter, Marin will:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wind down operations in an \u201corderly\u201d fashion.<\/li>\n<li>Delist from Nasdaq.<\/li>\n<li>Resolve debts and liabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Attempt to sell any remaining assets.<\/li>\n<li>Distribute net proceeds to shareholders.<\/li>\n<li>Begin the formal shutdown process under Delaware law.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What they\u2019re saying. <\/strong>CEO and founder Christopher Lien thanked customers, partners, and staff in a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20250410517913\/en\/Marin-Software-Announces-Plan-of-Dissolution\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a>: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cOn behalf of Marin Software, I want to thank our customers, partners, team members, and stockholders for their support over the years.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Zoom out<\/strong>. Founded in 2006, Marin was once a leader in the search marketing software category.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The company reported revenue of $36 million in 2011 and $50 million in 2012.<\/li>\n<li>The company filed for its IPO and went public in 2013.
