{"id":662056,"date":"2025-04-11T00:34:36","date_gmt":"2025-04-10T21:34:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/yahoo-removes-dei-pages-from-its-website\/"},"modified":"2025-04-11T00:34:36","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T21:34:36","slug":"yahoo-removes-dei-pages-from-its-website","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/yahoo-removes-dei-pages-from-its-website\/","title":{"rendered":"Yahoo removes DEI pages from its website"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tech company Yahoo has removed several pages and other sections from its corporate website in recent months relating to its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, TechCrunch has learned.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A section of Yahoo\u2019s website that was previously <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20241217105551\/https:\/\/www.yahooinc.com\/diversity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">dedicated to DEI<\/a> no longer loads and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahooinc.com\/diversity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">instead redirects<\/a> to the company\u2019s executive leadership page. A previous version of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20241217023827\/https:\/\/www.yahooinc.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Yahoo\u2019s leadership page from late-2024<\/a> touted language mentioning diversity and inclusion, but <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahooinc.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">does not appear<\/a> on Yahoo\u2019s current website. Yahoo\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20241006081129\/https:\/\/www.yahooinc.com\/diversity\/dei-report-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">2022 diversity report<\/a> no longer loads and returns a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahooinc.com\/diversity\/dei-report-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">page \u201cnot found\u201d error<\/a>. While open positions on Yahoo\u2019s career website still advertise a link to Yahoo\u2019s former DEI page, the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahooinc.com\/diversity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">page<\/a> now redirects to Yahoo\u2019s leadership page.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yahoo, which owns TechCrunch, made the website changes between December 2024 and January 2025, according to historical copies of Yahoo\u2019s website hosted on the Internet Archive\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/*\/yahooinc.com*\">Wayback Machine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brenden Lee, a spokesperson for Yahoo, told TechCrunch in a statement: \u201cWe revamped our corporate website late last year as the first part of a planned, multi-phase redesign timed to CES and our Yahoo Ads relaunch. In February, U.S. Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General<\/a> Pam Bondi<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/ag\/media\/1388501\/dl?inline\"> ordered<\/a> the Justice Department to \u201cinvestigate, eliminate, and penalize\u201d DEI programs at private sector companies that receive federal funds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several tech companies, including Google and OpenAI, have already scrubbed mentions of DEI from their websites in recent months. Meta also eliminated its corporate DEI programs days before the Trump administration took office, citing a \u201cchanging\u201d legal landscape regarding DEI. Soon after, Amazon deleted wording relating to inclusion and diversity from its annual report filed with regulators.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TechCrunch reported in March that U.S. health insurance giant UnitedHealth also scrubbed much of its website of mentions of DEI.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Disclosure: Yahoo is the parent company of TechCrunch.
