\n\tEmily Ratajkowski has joined the conversation surrounding Blue Origin\u2019s all-female space flight and feels it\u2019s \u201cnot an accomplishment.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe model-actress took to her TikTok<\/a> on Monday to share her thoughts, shortly after Katy Perry,\u00a0Gayle King and Jeff Bezos\u2019 fianc\u00e9e Lauren S\u00e1nchez were among six women who flew to the edge of space\u00a0on the Amazon founder\u2019s Blue Origin spaceflight.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat space mission this morning, that\u2019s end-time shit. Like, this is beyond parody,\u201d she began. \u201cSaying that you care about Mother Earth, and it\u2019s about Mother Earth, and going up in a spaceship that is built and paid for by a company that\u2019s single-handedly destroying the planet? Look at the state of the world, and think about how many resources went into putting these women into space, and for what? For what, what was the marketing there? And then to try to make it like \u2026 I\u2019m disgusted. Literally, I\u2019m disgusted.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRatajkowski isn\u2019t the first to criticize the latest space expedition, as Olivia Munn questioned the purpose of the mission earlier this month. \u201cI know this is probably not the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now,\u201d she said in part. \u201cWhat are you guys going to do up in space?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Tuesday, the We Are Your Friends<\/em> actress returned to TikTok<\/a> to expand on her thoughts about the Blue Origin flight, which also carried film producer Kerianne Flynn, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe and research scientist Amanda Nguyen on its 11th manned mission.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think that this space mission is confusing to people because seeing women and people of color in spaces like science<\/a> and politics that have not previously included them feels and looks like, really looks like \u2014 optically looks like \u2014 progress,\u201d Ratajkowski said in her latest video. \u201cBut the truth is, is that having a man who has gained his power and become a part of the one percent purely through exploitation and greed deciding to take his fianc\u00e9e and a few other famous women to space for space tourism is not progress.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe continued, \u201cIt just speaks to the fact that we are absolutely living in an oligarchy, where there is a very small group of people who are interested in going to space for the sake of getting a new lease on life while the rest of the population \u2014 most people on Planet Earth \u2014 are worried about paying rent, or, you know, having dinner for their kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRatajkowski also echoed what she claimed another creator said, \u201c\u2018Privilege is not an accomplishment,\u2019\u201d adding, \u201cExploitation is certainly not an accomplishment, and being able to take the privilege that you have gained from exploitation and greed of the planet, of resources, of human beings, and then doing something like going to space for 11 minutes, is certainly not an accomplishment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s why this all is giving\u00a0Hunger Game<\/a>s<\/em>, right?\u201d she concluded. \u201cBecause I think we\u2019re in a place in the world where we need to be able to discern what real progress looks like, and what happ<\/a>ened yesterday was nothing like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tS\u00e1nchez and King responded to backlash during a post-trip<\/a> press conference on Monday, with the CBS Morning<\/em>\u00a0co-anchor saying, \u201cI feel anybody that\u2019s criticizing doesn\u2019t really understand what\u2019s happening here. We\u2019ve all heard it. We were even all talking about that.\u201d King also urged critics to do a \u201cdeep dive\u201d into what the flight represents for some people.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI would love to have [critics] come to Blue Origin and see the thousands of employees that don\u2019t just work here, but they put their heart and soul into this vehicle,\u201d S\u00e1nchez added. \u201cThey love their work and they love the mission and it\u2019s a big deal for them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
