\n\tReal-time virtual production firm Dimension Studio, known for its work on the likes of Sony Pictures\u2019 Whitney Houston biopic\u00a0I Wanna Dance With Somebody<\/em>, App<\/a>le TV+ miniseries<\/a>\u00a0Masters of the Air,<\/em>\u00a0and the Peacock gladiator series\u00a0Those About to Die<\/em>\u00a0(Peacock), has unveiled a \u201cnew end-to-end AI
content production pipeline\u201d that it developed to \u201csupport filmmakers and content creators in delivering content faster and more efficiently than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDimension, which received a major investment from U.S. private equity firm\u00a0Growth Catalyst Partners\u00a0(GCP) last year to \u201cfuel Dimension\u2019s\u00a0international\u00a0growth, expanding production capabilities in major markets, including the U.K., U.S., and Europe,\u201d said it will make the new AI offering available across its business \u201cto empower its teams in delivering amazing creative results for clients.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTo show what the AI \u201cpipeline\u201d can do, Dimension\u2019s Dimension Futures team has produced an animated kids short, entitled Mara & Milo: Magic & Mayhem<\/em>. \u201cEverything from initial ideation, storyboarding, character and environment design, to virtual camera control, shot composition and voiceover has been done by a team of two artists whose creative work was supported by the AI pipeline,\u201d the firm said. \u201cThe pipeline allowed the artists to accelerate creative and look development and to deliver the finished production in a matter of weeks rather than months. The pipeline meant they could quickly iterate on different ideas across character, costume, environment, lighting, animation, camera moves, and shot creation and selection.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDimension said that the Mara & Milo<\/em> team estimates that the new offering helped to reduce its production time to just one-third of what it would have been using traditional processes. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe pipeline positions Dimension as an ideal partner for productions that are interested in exploring the creative application of AI and where clients are looking for efficiencies but without compromising on quality, whether that\u2019s for animated series, short-form content, or advertising where producers have fast turnaround deadlines,\u201d the company said. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen using AI tools for content generation, the control and consistency from shot to shot has been one of the biggest challenges,\u201d said Junaid Baig, chief innovation officer at Dimension. \u201cWhat our team has been able to do is to systematize how tools are used to enable consistent results for characters and
environment, and to maintain control of assets between shots for things like camera movement or animating multiple characters at once.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dimension emphasized that its approach to AI is \u201chuman-centric, developing the pipeline so that the
artists are in control and it supports their individual creative and artistic delivery.\u201d Added the firm: \u201cRather than replacing roles, it enables the team to be more productive. It also means the pipeline can support wherever an artist needs it, whether they\u2019re in storyboarding, production design, animation or virtual camera operation and cinematography.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDimension co-CEO Simon Windsor touted: \u201cAI is a revolutionary technology<\/a> that\u2019s transforming filmmaking and storytelling at unprecedented speed and scale.
