\n\tTime<\/em> and ABC have found the host for this year\u2019s Time100 primetime special.<\/p>\n

\n\tTime Studios, the TV and film arm of Time<\/em> magazine, says that Snoop Dogg will host this year\u2019s Time100 gala, which will be held this month in New York. Ed Sheeran and Myles Smith are also set to perform at the gala, which will be held April 24 and air on ABC May 4.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast year\u2019s Time100 gala was hosted by Taraji P. Henson, with Dua Lipa and Fantasia Barrino performing.<\/p>\n

\n\tTime<\/em> released its annual Time100 list Wednesday<\/a>, with Snoop and Sheeran among the honorees. As has become a tradition, Time<\/em> has notable figures write the profiles of honorees. This year\u2019s list sees Hoda Kotb writing about Snoop, with Chris Hemsworth writing about Sheeran.<\/p>\n

\n\tOther pairings include Kristen Bell by Ted Danson, Adam Scott by Nick Offerman, Blake Lively by Sherrilyn Ifill, and Nikki Glaser by Ali Wong.<\/p>\n

\n\tIfill, the well-known civil rights attorney, recalled how Lively reached out to help her organization:<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShe and her husband Ryan Reynolds reached out in 2019 to make a contribution to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. I had been getting a few of these calls, as our work fighting against voter suppression and police brutality was receiving national attention,\u201d Ifill writes. \u201cI\u2019m always curious about the kind of research famous people do before they make that cold call to offer their support. The ones I have remained in relationship with are those who, like Blake, really did their homework. I admired immedia<\/a>tely her curiosity, and her sincere work to understand the conditions that shape this country. I remember an early conversation in which she expressed frustration that so much of our nation\u2019s history was not part of the instruction she received as a student. Her commitment to filling those gaps\u2014and becoming the most fully informed and prepared citizen\u2014is what I app<\/a>reciate most about her. Blake is a serious person. She\u2019s a risk taker. And she\u2019s committed to moving this country forward. For her children. And for mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Time100 is one of two key franchises for Time<\/em>, with the other being its Person of the Year franchise. The media company has expanded that franchise to include entertainers of the year, musicians of the year, and athletes of the year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
