Months after DeepSeek jolted both Silicon Valley and Wall Street, U.S. officials seem to be weighing several options to limit China\u2019s access to American technologies and consumers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday, the White House <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/04\/15\/technology\/nvidia-h20-chip-china-restrictions.html\">moved to restrict more of Nvidia\u2019s AI chip sales to China<\/a>, strengthening rules created by the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DeepSeek\u2019s popularity among U.S. AI developers has soared in recent months, and the startup\u2019s competitive pricing has forced Silicon Valley to offer frontier AI models at lower costs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are lingering questions, however, around whether DeepSeek engaged in IP theft to create some of its more competitive models.
