Here&#8217;s everything you need to know.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"bialty-container\">\n<p>The U.S. Department of Justice and a coalition of states unveiled <span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">their proposed remedies today aimed at dismantling\u00a0Google\u2019s illegal monopoly\u00a0in search and search advertising. These include<\/span> breaking off Chrome and banning default search payments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The remedies.<\/strong> They break down into five categories meant to enable and increase competition: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Distribution remedies.<\/strong> This would mean ending payments that \u201cfreeze the ecosystem in place,\u201d including Google\u2019s multi-billion-dollar payments to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>le and Android device makers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chrome divestiture.<\/strong> This would separate Chrome from Google \u2013\u00a0organizationally and financially. Chrome accounts for 35% of all Google search queries and drives \u201cbillions in Search revenue\u201d (the actual number is redacted). The DOJ also pointed out that Google \u201cunderinvests\u201d in Chrome. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Data remedies.<\/strong> This would require Google to share user-side data, search index coverage, and ad performance data \u2013\u00a0essential tools that help competitors train models, improve search results, and better compete.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advertising remedies.<\/strong> This would increase transparency and control for advertisers, while helping rival ad platforms compete more effectively.
