AnimE<\/a>igo<\/span> and Media<\/a>OCD have announced that the home media Blu-ray release of <\/span>Nobody\u2019s Boy Remi<\/span><\/i> will be available on\u00a0May 11, 2025. A total of 51 episodes will be presented in 3-D and in high definition for the very first time. The series<\/a> is being released under the \u201cRuined Childhood\u201d product line<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the English subtitled version, the <\/span>Blu-ray release<\/span> will include a French language dub, but no English dub. A pair of 3-D glasses will also be included, which utilizes the Pulfrich Effect, which is described as giving \u201ca false sense of depth a viewer can feel from objects that move horizontally.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Osamu Dezaki<\/b> (<\/span>Ashita no Joe, Aim for the Ace!<\/span><\/i>) directed <\/span>Nobody\u2019s Boy Remi<\/span><\/i>, with <\/span>TMS Entertainment <\/b>(then known as Tokyo Movie Shinsha) and <\/span>Madhouse <\/b>handling the animation production. Other main staff involved in the series included <\/span>Akio Sugino<\/b> (<\/span>Cobra The Animation<\/span><\/i>) as character designer, <\/span>Shichiro Kobayashi<\/b> (<\/span>Angel\u2019s Egg<\/span><\/i>) as art director, and <\/span>Takeo Watanabe<\/b> (<\/span>Candy Candy<\/span><\/i>) as music composer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The series aired in Japan from October 2, 1977 to October 1, 1978 and is available to watch in French dub on the Anime on TMS <\/span>YouTube channel<\/span><\/a>. RetroCrush is also currently streaming <\/span>Nobody\u2019s Boy Remi<\/span><\/i> on its online service.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A film version of the series with the same director and studio was also released in 1980.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The anime itself is based on the 1878 novel <\/span>Sans Famille<\/span><\/i> by French writer <\/span>Hector Malot<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
