Lil Wayne has defended his decision to pose for a picture with Donald Trump back in 2020.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>, Weezy detailed how the photo came about and that he didn\u2019t care about the backlash he suffered as a result.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThere was some people in there like, \u2018Y\u2019all should take a picture.\u2019 He didn\u2019t even ask for a picture. (Trump) says, \u2018These motherfuckers asking me for fucking pictures all fucking day, man. Can we please?\u2019 I said, \u2018It\u2019s the President. OK.\u2019 (Trump) was like, \u2018Thank you. Bitches (been) bothering me all day.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cFuck no, I don\u2019t care about no backlash for nothin\u2019 I do, you know me, man. My mama woulda been mad if I ain\u2019t smile. That might have been the only backlash I would have worried about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wayne also refused to directly endorse Trump when asked if he would have campaigned for the Republican: \u201cI would\u2019ve told him, \u2018You probably don\u2019t want that,\u2019 because I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on. I can tell you who won the last game<\/a>, but I can\u2019t really \u2026 you know what I mean?\u201d<\/p>\n

Just months after Wayne posed for the picture with Trump, he was pardoned during the former reality star\u2019s final days in office over gun possession charges that could have landed the rap legend a decade in prison.<\/p>\n

After he was granted the pardon, Wayne said: \u201cI want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community. I also want to thank @bradfordcohen for working so diligently to secure another chance for me. Love!\u201d<\/p>\n

On the music front, Wayne recently said that he was no longer interested in performing at the Super Bowl after not being picked for this year\u2019s event which was hosted by his home town of New Orleans.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery time I looked, it was nothing that made me want to go inside and see what was going on,\u201d he explained, before adding: \u201cThey stole that feeling. I don\u2019t want to do it. It was perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n

When he wasn\u2019t chosen, he says the NFL simply told him, \u201cWe ain\u2019t in charge [of the Super Bowl halftime show].\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cAll of a sudden, according to them, they got curved. So, I\u2019m going to have to just settle with whatever they say.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
