Young Thug has finally addressed his relationship with Gunna after seemingly dissing him in songs and social media<\/a> since his release from jail in the fall.<\/p>\n

Thug sat down for an interview with GQ<\/em> that was published on Friday (April 25), and the journalist brought up the rumors of a rift between the YSL rapp<\/a>ers and asked what the status is. However, Thug didn\u2019t provide a clear answer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know everybody wonders [what our relationship is like now],\u201d he noted, before saying: \u201cI don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

The same day the interview was released (though it had been conducted weeks earlier), Young Thug dropped the lead single from his upcoming album Uy Scuti<\/em> titled \u201cMoney On Money\u201d featuring Future.<\/p>\n

While the track is a bombastic return to the Atlanta star\u2019s best, it\u2019s most notable for some lines that appear to be aimed at his former friend and his decision to take an Alford plea during YSL\u2019s long-running and controversial RICO trial.<\/p>\n

On the song\u2019s hook, Thug raps: \u201cThese fuck n-ggas tellin\u2019 for nothin\u2019, and I gotta be the one callin\u2019 \u2019em friends.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

He later spits: \u201cBrother, you a rat (My brother).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Thugger also reiterated the accusation in a subsequent verse: \u201cTwin, you a rat, you smoked, uh.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Gunna has always denied snitching on Young Thug but it is not the first time his label boss has appeared to label him a rat.<\/p>\n

On a snippet of a track he posted on his Instagram, Thug could be heard rapping: \u201cNever associate with a rat\/ Go and get some money, get a pack.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Gunna\u2019s former lawyer, Steve Sadow, also denied that the rapper had cooperated with prosecutors in exchange for a plea.<\/p>\n

Sadow said: \u201cI was Gunna\u2019s attorney but I am NOT speaking on his behalf. This long post is solely to set out the truth. Gunna did NOT cooperate, and did NOTHING and said NOTHING to cause harm to Thug\u2019s case. He spent 8 months in jail and was released in Dec. 2022 after entering an Alford plea. Gunna\u2019s plea could not and was not used at Thug\u2019s trial and he was never even named as a witness. He received a 5-yr suspended sentence, with no reporting, no travel<\/a> restrictions, no living restrictions, AND NO PROBATION.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the last two years, from media reports, he has performed all over the world, achieved international fame and recognition, and earned millions of dollars. Conversely, Thug went to trial and eventually pled guilty and nolo after spending 30-months in jail, received 15 years probation, with reporting conditions and is not even allowed to live in Atlanta. THOSE THAT HAVE AND CONTINUE TO BAD MOUTH GUNNA, GET OVER IT. NUFF\u2019 SAID.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
